Yeah, looks like it’s just faded, I’m wondering what was done to the truss rod though , Boris Kiraly who worked his magic on the neck by adding new life to the truss rod

My LB 30 fizzled out a while back, I called Dave Green at Ashdown and took it in a few days later and he fixed it while I waited and looked around the shop, all FOC , I’m sure they will sort it for you T bay 👍

I’m a joiner/ cabinet maker and I could fix it but it’s the finish I think you would struggle with, if it was in the uk I might have considered it

On all the ashdown amps I’ve had the VU didn’t really move that much , the RM one is more sensitive I think

I’ve never ever broke a string, how does this happen, the only way I could see would be if you were slapping hard and pulled the G maybe too much
