Sounds like a bass to me , although the cool ruler did use a lot of synth Basslines on lots of his albums, also I’m sure that Robbie Shakespeare played most of the lines in the early days 🙂

Hey waddo, I’ve got a spare Wilkinson bridge which I bought just for the screws, but I never used , your welcome to it if you want it , and I think I’ve got some neck/body screws in my workshop you can have, let me know and I’ll pop them in the post 🙂

If you’ve got some time have a listen to this , it’s the Asham band , they are a Belgian reggae band who I follow, their bass player is Alain, who you may know from YouTube, he’s a great reggae player and they are backing Linval Thompson , I’ve stolen some of the Basslines 😁

Rule of thumb is 2.5mm drill bit for no6 screws and 3mm drill bit for no8 screws, as Hellzero says go with 2.5 , if it feels too tight open them up to 3mm

Have you thought about a jazz , or is the nut too narrow, my P was my go to bass for years but now I prefer jazzes, it’s nice to have both 🙂
