  1. Not sure if they do that exact one , but these are good 🙂 https://www.originalscratchplates.com/
  2. Anyone remember this album, I’ve still got it and it was robbie on bass
  3. I’m glad you got yourself a bass CDLT , it’s exiting getting your first one and great fun when things start coming together, it might take a little while but with practice it will definitely come. I’ve got this book which I’ve never used, and it’s got the CD with it unplayed, if it’s any use to you to get you rolling, your welcome to it for nothing 👍
  4. Definitely, I had 18s in the 80s and loved them, I only changed them to, HH 2x15s as I didn’t have the space at the time, all the reggae sound systems I knew only had 18s too, they might lack the definition but the bass was great 🙂
  5. Loving that, I’ve added it to my , to play list, good one to play with the thumb 👍
  6. Thanks ez 👍 I’m looking forward to getting some flats on it the weekend
  7. Nothing wrong with big speakers 😁
  8. I’m the same as you Lozz , I love my fenders, I got a BB415 a few years back, and on the occasion I need a 5 , that’s what I use 🙂
  9. Thanks Maude 👍 I actually went to buy an attitude in PMT one Saturday, it sounded amazing but I couldn’t get on with the neck, it was a bit too chunky for me, really nice bass though 🙂
  10. Thanks jazzy 👍 it does do the reggae really well on the P pickup
  11. That’s very true, and I have to admit, i was one of those people until I got one a few years back, I couldn’t believe how good they were 🙂
  12. That’s the good thing about this thread, it’s what lots of different people are listening to, and at different times, and different ages, I’ve heard some great tracks here that I would never otherwise have heard 🙂
  13. Came across this , it’s a really great tune, I think the original was by Big Youth
  14. Cheers Al 👍, yeah I was lucky there, it’s well worth it
  15. I normally play fender jazzes but I had a Yamaha 414 that I really liked, and after some great advice on the Yamaha thread I went for a 1024 , and it came today from Derry, after a little play my first impression is , it feels great and sounds superb, especially the P pickup with the tone rolled back , I don’t remember the 414 sounding this good, but it was a while ago, overall a really nice solid bass , it’s got rounds fitted which are a bit twangy for me , but labella flats are going on it soon 🙂 not very good pics , it’s dull and wet here 🙂
  16. There’s no doubt about it, they are talented guys, I saw one of them on the Jonathan Ross program , he seemed pretty down to earth, not what I expected
  17. Cheers cuzzie 👍 some of those desk concerts are good
  18. I bought an oasis cd among others from a charity shop just to listen to in the van at work, and it wasn’t for me, it all sounded the same, but a while back I listened to, High flying birds , and it was different in a good way, there’s some really good tracks
  19. Talking about stack knob set ups, I like this one because I like switches 😁, I’ve got a flea bass loom with no plate yet, I’m guessing you have to drill the hole for the switch, also would the switch be able to give me separate use of the pickups or would it be series/parallel
  20. I bought it and @KiOgon rewired it for me and fitted a 0.1uF cap on the neck pup , it sounds superb
