  1. I’ve got one fitted to one of my jazzes which was an experiment really, I don’t play hard or dig in as they say but I quite like it, once you’ve found the right height which is close to the strings I can’t really think why you would want it adjustable
  2. I’ve got a B2A, they really are a great bass, I’m guessing the FL is fretless lined, very cool, good luck Pete
  3. I’m not familiar with those strings as I only use flats, but shouldn’t a new bass work with any strings, I certainly wouldn’t be talking it apart testing stuff, I’d ask for a return and new one, good luck
  4. It’s just me and I’m sure it’s ok, but I wouldn’t put meths or lighter fuel anywhere near my basses, really scares me
  5. I use the Gibson pump polish occasionally on my vintage basses, it does leave a slightly shiny finish which buffs up well with the microfibre cloth, and not sticky, maybe worth a try
  6. When you have a bit more info you could always ask here or in the vintage fenders thread , there’s a lot of knowledgeable people there who would be happy to assist if you needed, good luck
  7. Very nice, really great work, loving that neck with the blocks
  8. There’s a box on the right hand side of the pictures to tick and a bin comes up
  9. Out of curiosity what are the pickups and neckplate dates
  10. Before I had the markbass 15s I had 2 Trace Elliot 15s , they did the reggae /dub very good ,super deep, I should have kept those
  11. The sound systems and dub camps still use 18s, the Big Ben sounds like a good idea to me and I don’t think they are overly expensive now , I used markbass 15s for a long time and they really do the deep low end well, I use a barefaced big baby now which sounds great too, I’ve always fancied the Barefaced Dubster , that would be perfect if you could get one, not sure if this helps mr B
  12. Very nice and a great bass , looks more like Lake Placid Blue to me, but I’ve seen many different shades
  13. A couple tonight from Frankie Jones, I’m liking this version with U Brown , you don’t hear many of his tunes these days and this great riddim
  14. Very true Maude, but when I played the Sean Hurley signature precision I swear I sounded exactly like him 😁
  15. When I was checking out Yamaha basses a few years back they had a few nice signature ones , they had, Nathan East - John Patitucci - Billy Sheehan
  16. For me it was Natural Mystic from the Exodus album , it’s the first album I learned to play all the way through, I still play it now occasionally , wonderful basslines
  17. Joel bought a pedal from me , absolute pleasure dealing with you Joel, top man ,many thanks 🙏
  18. I see Andy Baxter is now advertising as the European dealer of Olinto basses , too far away from me ,but good if you wanted to try one out I suppose
  19. Didn’t they use nitro on the headstocks and that’s why they discoloured more than the poly body from 68 ish
  20. What’s with the holes on the headstock, weird
  21. Never seen that before, what happened to the headstock and body
