I’m the same, I’ve never used any effects, but I did buy a sansamp tech 21 VT pedal, I don’t like the drive/ distortion but I’ve found some really good settings on it to add a nice deep reggae bassline -

One of my jazzes had luminous fret markers, I didn’t even know until I played in a dim basement club one night , not sure if they were stock or if someone had fitted them

Here’s a magnified flatwound string, which has tight winds, a roundwound is a lot more open, can you imagine all those metal fibres going into those grooves , you won’t ever get them out

Definitely not, you would never get rid of the tiny metal fibres , I wouldn’t put wire wool anywhere near any of my basses
