Yeah that does look nice Andy, because I was only trying one I went for a pretty inexpensive one first, but for the money it’s really good value

I’m not a 5 string player , I play jazzes, but but I really wanted to try one, about a year ago I bought a Yamaha BB415 and found it surprisingly easy to play, the neck is pretty slim front to back and the nut is about the same as one of my P basses, it sounds really good too 🙂

That’s interesting because I looked at an Olympic white 65 jazz with matching headstock and I was told it was a custom colour, I thought Olympic white was a standard colour, but apparently not 🙂

Hi dave, I bought a used set on here and they are definitely brighter than my labella flats, I can imagine a new set would be even brighter, I would say they have more mids than zing, if that makes sense 🙂

That’s the best approach, just have a few practice runs on some offcuts and get the feel and direction of the cutter , you’ll be fine 👍

I’ve never actually thought about doing this before, I bought a set of LTF’s and the G had been cut too short and labella wanted £16 + postage for a single string, I might just try a different string.

I’m pretty sure mine are D’Addario, if you like the feel of flats they are good, you can see how smooth they are here
