I’ve had in excess of 35 fender jazz basses, mostly Mia and mim, and for your budget I would go for a s/h mexican fender jazz, they are also easy to upgrade if you ever wanted to, it’s also worth looking at Tokai jazz, I bought one for very little money and it’s superb 🙂
Welcome TJ1, It’s worth a look at Sandberg , you would get a nice one for that budget, they are very well built basses ,and they have lots to choose from ,and also various pickup configurations to suit most styles 🙂
edit , kingprawn beat me to it 😁
Top job teebs, I love a build 👍 , my only advice would be to let the paint harden off for good few days before you put it together, because although it appears dry it will mark easily 🙂
I’ve not long fitted Toneriders to one of my P basses, and they are great, nice tonal range throughout, I would leave it as it is and see how you get on 👍
Hi ubit, I used to play a lot of blues, but the jazz thing doesn’t appeal to me, I like the idea of Scottish traditional, would you have an example of something to try 🙂
It’s been a while since I played anything apart from reggae and dub, and I heard this on the radio and liked the rhythm, so I thought I might give it a go today, I found this cover by Constantine , it doesn’t look too difficult, but I’ll find out 🙂
