  2. These are the best fixings, they spring open behind the board and really grip
  3. The screw won’t come out of the plug once it’s screwed in , what you have to watch is the plug working loose in the plasterboard in time 🙂
  4. Superglue won’t stick in the plasterboard hole it’s too dusty , you need some toggles to do it properly and safe for your basses
  5. My markbass cabs are fairly light and you can pick them up for a reasonable price now 🙂
  6. I used to do the same, It wasn’t this one was it 🙂
  7. I don’t think it’s so easy now Kiwi , at one time there were old houses everywhere, you don’t see it so much now, developer friends of mine don’t bother to refurbish anything, they just knock down and build new flats.
  8. First for other people ,and I saw how much they were making, then for myself .
  9. There was an abundance of work, especially in East London with the regeneration of docklands and the Thames riverside developments
  10. I started out as a steeplejack doing high rise works , then qualified as a carpenter and joiner/cabinet maker, many years later I became a property developer and retired at 42 for a while, but I’ve been working for the NHS with their property team for the last 12 years dealing with compliance and refurbishment of their properties.
  11. Dry lining is more the finish, the plasterboard is not plastered, the joins are covered with tape and finished with a jointing compound, it’s quicker and cleaner than plaster
  12. I fitted metal stud for a few years , it was first used for big office buildings because it was fast, clean and light, then some house builders started using it, most of Canary Wharf and docklands is dry lining
  13. b5 , I’d suggest you try the small alcohol wipes like you get in first aid kits , they clean very well and are not too harsh and the alcohol evaporates, then buff up with a soft cloth 🙂
  14. I had a bit of a Marley day today and played a few tunes i haven’t played in a while
  15. My only experience with Trace gear has been in a few studios, it was ok but it didn’t make me want to rush out and buy it, I prefer Ashdown myself, I still have a mag 300 combo which went everywhere with me at one time, it’s battered and lives in my summerhouse now, but it’s still going strong , also with Ashdown you’ve always got the great, after sales service 🙂
  16. I think In this instance it’s to build speed when crossing strings using alternating picking , but whatever works for you , raking works for me but I don’t really play any super fast lines though.
  17. I’m working on a favourite of mine which I’ve seen Robbie play live , not the easiest to nail
  18. If you’re looking at building speed, Mark gives some good tips and exercises in this video
  19. Hi @ped I’d like to pay my subscription, I don’t really sell much but I’d like to do my bit to help support the site, could you send me the link to pay, cheers Tony
  20. I started playing guitar mainly for ear training myself on chords and playing modes and scales over them , but I felt that I was missing out on my bass playing too much so I gave it up, it’s bass only for me 🙂
  21. I didn’t take any notice of Abba in their day, but listening to them now I realise how good they really were
  22. Here’s one of mine and I get no buzz or clank and very little string noise, if I played aggressively I probably would ,but I’ve got a fairly light touch and I get a nice deep clean tone.
