Hi silvia, it could be a stain that’s been sprayed in the factory to tint the fretboard slightly darker, we did it in our joinery shop and some stains have a strange smell 🙂
Personally I would work on this Dave , because now you’re conscious of it you can pay more attention to keeping the thumb on the back of the neck, the only time my thumb does that is when I’ve been playing for a long time and I’m getting tired 🙂
Nice story and nice bass, it takes a long while to find the right vintage bass that has everything you want, I’ve been looking for about a year for my perfect one, I’m glad you found it 👍
Hi Tullfan, they really are a great amp, I play a jazz bass with tapes which is good with my other amps, so I now use the behringer BDI21 with the LB , and it sounds great, it gives me just that little bit more bass , cheers ☝️
I came across this really nice version of police and thieves , by glen dacosta, with boris gardiner or Robbie Shakespeare on bass and sly dunbar on drums
And the original by junior Murvin from 1976 , I was playing this around 1979 🙂 great tune , nice Bassline
I don’t use rounds at all , but when my Sandberg came from the factory it was fitted with their own 40-100 strings, and I was quite surprised how smooth and nice they were for rounds , and being light gauge they are easy on the fingers , I would recommend them 🙂
