Back in the day with a rock fan friend of mine I saw , black sabbath, hawkwind , hawklords , queen , pink Floyd , led zeppelin, the sex pistols, the jam , the police, but the heaviest was motorhead 🙂
The jazz is my choice of instrument because of the tonal variations that are available, I’ve had over 35 of them and I now have 7 that I wouldn’t part with, and of that 7 none of them sound the same 🙂
I’m having to brush up on some black uhuru songs which I haven’t played for a while for a private reggae party coming up, but when they’re out the way I can get back to learning a song I heard and really liked .....Watching The Detectives by Elvis Costello, it’s such a good Bassline , a bit of a challenge but I enjoy that 🙂
I’ve seen this a few times and the Alembic custom j , really sounds nice to me , and I don’t know how he got the EBM stingray classic to sound so nice and deep, I never could 🙂
That’s a shame the store is closed , because there’s not many places left now where you can actually try things out, the Romford store is more equipped for studio equipment but they have a good selection of basses and a nice practice room 🙂
When I was looking for a 62 RI jazz, there was only 2 for sale with the spec I wanted, one was in Australia and the other was in Dirk Witte Amsterdam , which I bought with no problems and it arrived 3 days later.
That was a bargain lownote, ☝️ I also have the Ashdown mag head , and the 115 deep cab (on the right) and the markbass ny 115 , which I mix n match, even the mags compressor isn’t bad.
I really only use labella LTF’s , so I know the measurement from ball end to silk , but if I’m buying new strings I try to get the string length specs up to be sure, as I’ve been caught out a few times .
