    A handy addition to the workbench is a bench stop , I use mine all the time especially if it’s to plane something that’s awkward to clamp, it adjusts up and is flat when not in use, could be another project si 😁

    Over the years I’ve probably tried most flats at one time or another and the fender flats were not for me, they were too stiff and seemed to lack warmth, if you like a stiffer string with brighter mids, they would be good.

    I’ve got those andy on another 2 jazzes, they are nice, they take a while to play in then the sound and feel just gets better and better

    I too am a labella LTF user, for many years I used deep talkin flats and then about a year ago I tried the LTF’s and liked the sound , tension and feel , I’ve now got 4 jazzes and 1 P bass with them .

    I’ve been a massive David Rodigan fan from a very early age, and he’s had some great shows over the years, if anyone is interested, if you get the BBC sounds app you can catch up on some of his shows

    That’s interesting, I don’t remember a tv program called reggae sunsplash, and I’ve been playing reggae since 1977, I but I’ve been to the reggae sunsplash festival 🙂

    I’ve never done it , but looking at it from a carpentry angle, you would have to file the frets first , or remove them, and then slim the neck down with a spokeshave, I’d say it could be done but I think it would be quite a bit of work 🙂

    I remember that well ☝️, im pretty sure the original song was , I’m still in love with you boy, but I’m not sure who did the very original , here’s the marcia aitken version , and Alton Ellis version, it’s a great Bassline 🙂

    A friend of mine has one of those, it plays and sounds great but I just couldn’t get past the big badge on the front, I thought it spoilt it, and I was born in West Ham 😀

    Have you listened to any of Karigans reggae drumming, he’s in Wata faya crew, but he has some videos of just drum beats

    That Ernest ranglin track made me dig out a few old tunes, check out the Bassline on this studio one , from 1970 and a jackie mitoo , groovy one 🙂
