  1. What a great project, and there’s something about looking at valves that I find really fascinating 🤓
  2. On bassdirect site it looks like they do LTF-4A in various scale lengths, mine are long scale, hope this helps 🙂
  3. Hi mcnach , it’s these ones 🙂
  4. I never noticed that, I must pay more attention 😁
  5. Have you tried unplugging the combo speakers and plugging in a separate cab to see if it is the speaker 🙂
  6. They are 042, .056, .075, .100 , i found the tension slightly lower than the la bella deep talking , but certainly not floppy ,they have a similar feel to the stock rounds it came with ,only smoother 🙂
  7. I’ll try Dave, I haven’t got any means of recording at home the phone doesn’t really sound any good, I’ll try GarageBand 👍
  8. After trying various strings and not being 100% happy I’ve just fitted La Bella low tension flats to my sandberg TT ,and they are great, i have to wind the tone back for what I play but the brightness is there if I need it ,and in passive mode it’s sweet, it took a while and a few quid but it was worth it 🙂
  9. I’ve got a in-line chromatic pedal tuner as part of my kit , I couldn’t do without it.
  10. Well done Merton, I’m back and fourth to fuerteventura at the moment so I wasn’t able to bid 😔. you got a bargain 👍
  11. That’s cool, I like the stone wall 🙂
  12. Or get one of these, this was my first metronome 😂
  13. I would definitely go and see them live 🙂
  14. I think they are so good, the first time I heard fireworks their voices just blew me away, I think I’ve seen everything by them on YouTube 🙂
  15. Hit me with your rhythm stick, such a great Bassline and anything by Bob Marley, I find quite timeless 🙂
  16. larwood , there’s some info here that may be of use to you 🙂
  17. Welcome 👍. There is no one particular bass for reggae, I’ve seen it played on many different types of bass over the last 35 years , and I’ve had many , but IMO a good place to start would be a fender Jazz or Precision with either flatwound or tapewound strings for a mellow tone 🙂
  18. If anyone is looking, this is ending soon, no bids yet 🙂. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F254371071172 Edit, it’s not mine , I’ve been watching it 🙂
  19. Was that the one used on , ashes to ashes 😁
  20. Bought some strings from Paul, fast delivery, top guy to deal with , thanks
  21. I’ve had a set of these on one of my jazzes for over 3 years and they’ve really worn in nice, they have a nice deep warm sound which is perfect for me, obviously the tone will differ from bass to bass but @Mickyk I agree with Marc s , at £10 - £12 they would certainly be worth a go to maybe get you a step closer to the sound you’re looking for 🙂
  22. I can see what some of you are saying about, stairway to heaven, they just played the long version on the radio, I nearly fell asleep at the wheel 😁
  23. I just can’t take it, even the dog leaves the room 😁
