  1. They are both Very nice indeed, can I ask how the J type sounds , I’ve never played an ACG , and was debating adding one to my collection , I love everything about that J 🙂
  2. There’s some info here on oils 🙂 https://www.guitaranswerguy.com/12-lemon-oil-debate/
  3. I read that the ,pure full strength lemon oils , are not good for your fretboard because they are too intense , and can dry them out but the Dunlop oil only has a tiny amount of lemon which helps to clean , the rest is mineral oil.
  4. I bought a pretty grimy jazz a few years back , which had been stored uncovered , and I cleaned the rosewood fretboard with baby wipes , which have a soft soap , and then lightly oiled it with Dunlop fretboard 65 lemon oil , to re nourish the wood , and buffed it up with an old t shirt, it came up a treat 🙂
  5. I’ll see what’s there around that thickness , if not I’ll cut you some , there’s lots of hardwood offcuts there and I’ll pop them in the post, 🙂
  6. Ricky, don’t buy anything yet , I’ll see what’s in my joinery shop tomorrow 👍
  7. The Dub shim sounds like a good name for a reggae band 😀. I’d stick to wood for a shim if I was you, eBay sell various offcuts for a few quid , keep us posted 👍
  8. Your English is fine Figue2B, I wish my french was as good 🙂 I hope you get the sale or trade you are looking for, it’s a very nice bass 👍
  9. I believe it’s to add tension to the String, and something to do with the pitch , but I’m not entirely sure, Maybe someone could answer this 🙂
  10. I’m exactly the same, I’ve even taken pictures ready to sell them , then I remember why I bought them in the first place , and keep them 😀
  11. As Andy says hondo || , just a different motif on the headstock 🙂
  12. Absolute bargain , how does it sound 🙂
  13. Hi Ricky, 3mm is quite a thick shim , and being vinyl I think it would dull the tone, because the woods are not connected, but if you like the tone and it gives you the action you are happy with then leave it, if not change the shim for a strip of , non backed veneer . Veneers come in various thickness from about 1mm to 3mm so you may need a few to get your required thickness. Nice job btw 👍
  14. I’m normally a fender jazz or Sandberg fan , but I’ve had my BB 415 about 3 weeks now and really can’t fault it in any way, I like the pickup switch , it makes it really easy to change between tones quickly, and the lows on this are great . Also the nut width is about 43 mm , which I didn’t think was bad for a 5 string, Imo they are well worth the money 🙂
  15. Not sure if You’ve seen this Tulou 🙂 https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F223478517269
  16. My current home practice rig , Sandberg California tt custom, Ashdown LB 30 , and markbass NY 115 , sounds really nice, the lows are really deep and clear , the LB 30 has such a nice tone 🙂
  17. I’ve only had mine 3 weeks and I’m liking it so much, I’m looking at another one 😀
  18. PRS made a very nice 3 pickup bass which you don’t really see that often, Robbie Shakespeare plays one 🙂
