  1. Some of my labella’s are over 20 years old and still intonate ok, perhaps other brands are different
  2. I bought warrior charge when it first came out and I’ve still got it, fantastic track and so is the B side Dub charge, I’ve been to see Aswad many times and they were great ,but the last time I saw them they didn’t have a band , they were singing over backing tracks, I left after about 20 minutes , very disappointing
  3. Great bass and I wouldn’t say no at that price, good luck
  4. Thanks msb, I’ve seen a few pictures of your setup and it looks wonderful, I will get one eventually, mainly for home use
  5. Looks good, I saw it on gumtree too
  6. I was going through some early Ernest Wilson and really like this track, backed by the revolutionaries And just when I thought it couldn’t get any better along came the Michael rose version and Joseph Cotton with the same riddim
  7. Absolutely, I always take my old ones off if ever I sell a bass
  8. They sound like labella 760FS , nice
  9. Which flats are they ead
  10. 11 year old flats are perfect for me, just breaking in nicely
  11. Jacob Miller from around 1980 great tune And another riddim
  12. My rm500 never sounded good through headphones, quite a lot of interference, I use the NUX pro for headphones now
  13. I can’t help myself looking at the Jule Monique preamp, lovely thing
  14. Look forward to seeing what you got 👍, I’ve been browsing early 70s jazz’s again lately myself but not many around with the maple and black blocks
  15. Looks like there’s a few going up for sale at the saleroom soon, haven’t had a proper look yet though
  16. Oh wow, hope all is ok Brian
  17. Yeah I saw that, it looks good and I don’t think the pickguard looks too bad either, reasonably priced as well
  18. Piers, Just remembered there’s @Ricky 4000 fine thread here
  19. Hi Piers, for me and pretty much in general the bass is the key and upfront instrument together with the drums (check out sly and Robbie), I can recommend having a look at Don Chandler’s videos if you haven’t seen them , he’s played with many of the top reggae artists over the years and gives some very good advice for all levels of players, he breaks down some nice basslines too, he’s the first person I contact when I need to know something, you can also download the backing tracks and tab sometimes if you look in the descriptions, I’ll put a video up to show you his channel
  20. I saw it not long after it came out and to be honest I wasn’t expecting much, but I was quite surprised how good it was, I already knew quite a lot about him but the attention to detail of the storyline was really good, even down to Aston Barrett’s jazz bass, I’d definitely watch it again
  21. Can’t say I know that much about him, the video above looks ok to me and I like Ian Allison , Charles seems a nice guy and a good player, I don’t really watch the so called showboating stuff, good luck to him if he’s making a living out of playing bass
  22. One of my all time favourite tunes, I remember when it came out , great one
