  1. My rm500 never sounded good through headphones, quite a lot of interference, I use the NUX pro for headphones now
  2. I can’t help myself looking at the Jule Monique preamp, lovely thing
  3. Look forward to seeing what you got 👍, I’ve been browsing early 70s jazz’s again lately myself but not many around with the maple and black blocks
  4. Looks like there’s a few going up for sale at the saleroom soon, haven’t had a proper look yet though
  5. Oh wow, hope all is ok Brian
  6. Yeah I saw that, it looks good and I don’t think the pickguard looks too bad either, reasonably priced as well
  7. Piers, Just remembered there’s @Ricky 4000 fine thread here
  8. Hi Piers, for me and pretty much in general the bass is the key and upfront instrument together with the drums (check out sly and Robbie), I can recommend having a look at Don Chandler’s videos if you haven’t seen them , he’s played with many of the top reggae artists over the years and gives some very good advice for all levels of players, he breaks down some nice basslines too, he’s the first person I contact when I need to know something, you can also download the backing tracks and tab sometimes if you look in the descriptions, I’ll put a video up to show you his channel
  9. I saw it not long after it came out and to be honest I wasn’t expecting much, but I was quite surprised how good it was, I already knew quite a lot about him but the attention to detail of the storyline was really good, even down to Aston Barrett’s jazz bass, I’d definitely watch it again
  10. Can’t say I know that much about him, the video above looks ok to me and I like Ian Allison , Charles seems a nice guy and a good player, I don’t really watch the so called showboating stuff, good luck to him if he’s making a living out of playing bass
  11. One of my all time favourite tunes, I remember when it came out , great one
  12. Hi Jotto, i can’t say I do, but this track I kinda recognise, not sure where from
  13. I had these TM 115’s deep , they really are a good cab, very nice of you to offer this grat, good luck
  14. Thanks for that info fretmeister, I didn’t know all that, pretty naughty really
  15. same here I’m not able to to make that one either , great line up and Channel One Sound System , that will be a great event
  16. I didn’t know anything about the interviewer and never heard of him, I’m more interested in watching and listening to Freddy talk and do his thing
  17. Hi, can you see if it’s been rounded off and have you tried a bigger Allen key
  18. Great one, thanks t-h , stop that train has to be in my top ten tunes, I like this too, can’t work out who’s on bass
  19. Really nice, very similar to Robbie Shakespeare’s PRS
  20. Sorry jazzy I’ve no experience of this either so I can’t really help you there, great rig my friend
  21. Not you sir 😁, some people can’t take the bass
  22. Hi Fraser, I never found the headphone switch very good on mine, it never sounded clear and used to stick occasionally, I had Dave green remove mine, I think really you need to put it through a cab to check it out properly, good luck
  23. My son sent me this on Spotify but I found it here, I’m sure you’ll remember Black Slate, good tune really liking the Bassline and I’ve been going through all of Channel One sound system videos lately ,and Luc As has some great ones on his channel if you like that kind of stuff
  24. UB40 is a bit like this for me, their first album Signing off was superb for its time, and I like Kingston town as much as the original, impossible love is another I like to play, Earl Falconer is a great player imo , but there’s also a lot of tracks that I struggle to listen to, especially since they parted ways and there’s effectively 2 bands
