  1. Sounds like you may have had it too tight, did you try it around the nut, I use them all the time to kill the overtones and stop the open strings ringing out, it suits what I’m playing sometimes
  2. I was looking up the reggae sunsplash which I was at in 84/85 and came across this great footage of one of my favourite players Lloyd Parks, good voice too and another track with Lloyd i like , nice dub .
  3. I can do the bass face ,but my playing doesn’t come out like that 😁
  4. Huw Foster, great player
  5. I haven’t had any on reverb , but if i put anything on gumtree I get a scammer within 2 minutes
  6. Yeah I like pdbass, I’ve got a few of his videos saved, this is a good one I thought ,and I’ve enjoyed working my way through the basslines for something different, no 2 is a good one
  7. Thanks tt, hope you’re keeping well
  8. I had one a long time back then switched to the RM range, very good amps, there was an ABM 500 watt EVO 111 in the for sale section for £175 I think a while ago
  9. Nice groove that, looking at a few write ups on Joe Ayoub he plays a 72 precision which it looks like, maybe a changed pickguard , can’t be sure but I think they may be flats with the red silks with the tone up full, great sound and great playing
  10. Scott is a great teacher imo and it’s worth checking out his blues videos, they are very good, he’s also a member here although doesn’t post very often, I found rhythm stick very challenging, I’ve been trying to play it since 1982 😁
  11. Welcome BMIB
  12. Yeah, I had something like this and big headphones with the coiled lead 😁
  13. Nice tip Lozz, I’ll give that a try next time
  14. I do this with every song I learn, I also listen closely at the note lengths too and for any muted notes, I didn’t know how much I was out on the note lengths until I recorded myself and listened to it back, so I pay particular attention now
  15. Cool , can I guess, is it a 60s one?
  16. Lovely , congrats mr B 👌, I wouldn’t part with my 71
  17. Wonderful work, well done sir 👌
  18. See if the link works jazzy https://www.mixcloud.com/JahMon/rac373-tribute-to-joe-higgs-interview-about-the-bmt-project/
  19. Think I mentioned before a band I follow from Belgium called Asham, well I listened to a podcast made by one of their studio directors, it’s partly a tribute to Joe Higgs and a project called BMT Bob Marley Tracks covered by Asham, I can send you the podcast if anyone is interested, but here’s a few great tracks from it by Joe . and one with Jimmy Cliff
  20. Thanks, I didn’t know that version, quite different to the one I learned
  21. I had those, and they are crazy steel cables that I think came off the dartford bridge 😁, I had trouble getting them round the tuning pegs , sounded good though
  22. I mainly only use LTFs but labella does an extra light gauge set 760FX which are 039 .056 .077. 096, which I had once, green silks I think?, similar guages but they were quite bright for what I was looking for at the time
  23. Excuse my ignorance but what is FM version
  24. Definitely not, miss RB said the same too
