  1. Not many of those around , I don’t think I’ve ever seen a first year one in the flesh, I translated the description, 1st year of production of the Fender Jazz Bass -Slab Board / Stack Knobs -Serial number: 57229 (Pre CBS) -Date of the handle: 10-60 (October 1960) -Date of potentiometers: 1376039 (I.e. 39th week of 1960) -Body date: 8-60 (August 1960) -Blonde Finish original (unfortunately the former owner started removing the paint and fortunately it's stopped!). Without it, this bass would be worth double. -Truss rod works perfectly -Original case: Brown tolex/ Orange interior -Delivered with the 4 original mutes (very rare), the 2 silver microphone covers and original Fender strap. -Professional repair: Surface crack on the head, tuner E repaired (see photos). This is unfortunately common in some early Fenders. -Prised and professionally settled by "Southside Guitar" (Vintage Guitar Store of reference in the USA) -Invoice and Certificate provided Its incredible, Jaco's model...
  2. An early one from Ziggy Marley, he sounds so much like his father, nice Bassline on this
  3. I think it’s been altered too much for you to put it back as original, S8 is 78 sometimes up to 81, really nice looking fretboard there, I’d be inclined to get it fretted (I don’t play fretless) and have the electrics you like, I’d remove those chrome caps at the bridge too, not an expensive project to get it how you want and it’s a very nice bass
  4. If it’s just for playing at home and you like the colour scheme and paintwork I don’t see any problem , you could have anything on it, but to use it live somewhere I think people will see it as possibly making a statement of some sort ,even though you’re not, nice bass btw
  5. Really liking this by Johan Papacontantino which was put on recently by the Bass zone
  6. Is he saying they are not seated properly, does it play okay
  7. Fairly sure this is the original, (edit , it’s not the original it’s a recent release) one of my favourite basslines, great one to play
  8. Just thought of another, anything by Adele 😬
  9. Yeah, that makes sense cheers, for the minimal time I use it with headphones the Waza wouldn’t be worth it, but the Nux probably would
  10. If you do decide to fit them my 62RI jazz came with a fixing template for the screw holes , you can probably download them, might be of use to you VType
  11. They wasn’t very practical for me, when I played near the neck they didn’t interfere at all which is a lot of the time, but sometimes I like to rest on the front pickup, and playing with the thumb I rest on the bridge, they do look cool though, and a good idea about the double sided tape
  12. Looking good BassAgent, congrats
  13. Thanks for that Maude , I use the Yamaha sessioncake sometimes but was hoping this was wireless with headphones
  14. I know quite a lot of the O’jays tracks but that one was a new one for me, thanks Chris
  15. Weight has never really bothered me, strangely I don’t like basses that are super light, I’m happy to take the these heavy ones
  16. Never heard that before, I’ve only ever known the Third World version
  17. This is similar to how I use my jazz elite in active, treble off and mid at half, but I have to back off the bass a bit or it’s too much, even for reggae, very clear sounding though, even with no treble
  18. Thanks very much Buddster, wasn’t sure if wireless would work, cheers
  19. Quick question about these, do you just plug it into your bass and use wireless headphones and do you have to use the app for it to work
