  1. Hi, I haven’t myself but a few people I know have used Armstrong pickups and a few people here I believe have too
  2. Yes I’ve got one of those, they mute the strings quite heavily , which is good if you’re looking for that but I found it a bit too much, i did lots of experimenting with different types and sometimes the foam under the strings at the bridge does a good job
  3. Thanks for that info Paul , mine is 2 years old now , I don’t know much about the technical side and the manual says these are in my one Preamp: Tube (2 x 12AX7) Driver Tubes: (1 x 12AX7, 1 x 12AU7) Power Amp: (4 x 6L6GC) RMS Power Handling: 100 Watts RMS Speaker Outputs: 1 x 8 ohm, 2 x 4 ohm, 2 x 2 ohm
  4. Some Gregory isaacs today
  5. Pretty sure the 4-String Gauges are .043, .056, .070, .100, on the Long scale Brian
  6. Couldn’t you have got the original ones rewound or wasn’t that possible
  7. If you could get a bit of the material the case liner has would work too , I’ve had a few nitro basses hanging on Hercules hangers with no problems
  8. Driving to East Ham listening to some early paragons
  9. Welcome LP
  10. That would look good, similar to the Yamaha BB
  11. Came across this great track by Bunny Scott before he became the singer of Third World , he was also in the early line-up of Inner Circle
  12. You could be right , I’m no expert either but it looks right to me, it’s 4 ply and has what I think is an aluminium shielding plate on the back
  13. If all is working ok and there’s no problem with the neck it’s a nice find
  14. It’s worth experimenting with a few different offcuts of wood before gluing to get the closest match you can
  15. If you don’t mind me saying, the block is showing end grain so won’t match, you will find it hard to match exactly but will get closer if the grain is running the same way 🙂
  16. 57 is the precision 👍
  17. Underrated- Behringer ultrabass amps Trace Elliot cabs Overrated- Squier Jaco
  18. I wouldn’t say I’ve regretted buying anything as such, but I’ve lost count of the amps cabs and basses I’ve had, lots of them were my fault for not doing any research and just buying what I liked the look of, whichever basses I bought I always went back to a fender jazz or precision, so I now know exactly what’s good for me, and of all the amps I’m settled on the Ampeg sound, it’s all a learning experience and if you don’t try these things you’ll never know
  19. Looks like the 57 and 62 both had 250k pots , not sure about the cap though but a 66 I looked at had this cap
  20. Welcome Teller
  21. And for home practice they are totally silent, no fan noise
  22. Heard this recently and it took me way back in time
  23. Did they ever get anyone for that
  24. I remember something like that, wasn’t it around the same time as a Tyson fight
  25. Nice one, they are a great amp and I wouldn’t part with mine, look forward to seeing how you get on
