  1. Hi Brian, according to my book the small registered trademark R was used until 77, then they started using Schaller but I’ve seen some 1980 ones with the R, maybe it’s early, here’s a 1969 with no R
  2. Recent 73 listed by Andy Baxter, looks like someone has oversprayed it https://www.andybaxterbass.com/products/1973-fender-precision-bass-sunburst-4
  3. View to a kill is my favourite 👌
  4. I’ve got one of the newer ones, this must recent as there’s normally some for sale, looks like they are not in till September ish
  5. Sounds feasible as I don’t think natural finishes were available in their catalogs until the early 70s , I’ve read that blonde was the standard transparent finish they used , I think it was a furniture lacquer, perhaps someone has more info here 🙂
  6. A bit late but I came across this while reading up on a few custom colours, think it’s pretty much what was mentioned
  7. Hi and welcome There’s an Ampeg Rocket Bass RB-110 , in mint condition for sale in the classifieds here for £150, it’s a quality amp and would be ideal for what you’re looking for
  8. He’s found the original pickguard now
  9. My 71 is 40mm and really not much different really in profile to my jazzes , The precisions with the A neck 38mm are quite sought after by some, you don’t see them very often, I missed out on one here a few years back, it was listed while I was travelling and by the time I replied it was sold
  10. Think you’ll find 68 was the year they changed from C to B neck, but I have seen some 67s , so 67/68
  11. What no massive valve amp with trouser flapping cabs, never 😁
  12. Can’t see anything wrong with what you’re doing, adding ghost notes adds to the overall Bassline I think, I work on those a lot and try to add them in the right places, as for fills I don’t do that, playing reggae is a lot about leaving space as it’s just as important as the right notes, if I was to fill that space it gets too busy, but after all playing with feel is what it’s all about
  13. I’ve been researching all my favourite reggae bass players lately and came across this good interview with Jackie Jackson, really humble guy
  14. Really good tune that, liking the keyboards, I’ll check them out , thanks
  15. I saw them back in the day, is it the original members still
  16. Neither of those are for through body stringing, the ones that are have a -TB after the string number like this, 760FS-TB Deep Talkin’ Bass Flats – Standard 45-105, Thru-Body. as far as I know labella only do 2, that’s the ones with TB and LTF’s , I know people have done this with others before but there’s a chance the string could snap
  17. Just a thought but doesn’t the neck need all strings on to keep it stable/straight and stop it twisting ?, I would just ignore the other string and play it like a 4
