  1. I’ve been researching all my favourite reggae bass players lately and came across this good interview with Jackie Jackson, really humble guy
  2. Really good tune that, liking the keyboards, I’ll check them out , thanks
  3. I saw them back in the day, is it the original members still
  4. Neither of those are for through body stringing, the ones that are have a -TB after the string number like this, 760FS-TB Deep Talkin’ Bass Flats – Standard 45-105, Thru-Body. as far as I know labella only do 2, that’s the ones with TB and LTF’s , I know people have done this with others before but there’s a chance the string could snap
  5. Just a thought but doesn’t the neck need all strings on to keep it stable/straight and stop it twisting ?, I would just ignore the other string and play it like a 4
  6. Lovely BassAgent, congrats 👍
  7. Found a pic rob, they play quite good really, especially the P pickup
  8. It’s a 70s -80s kay , I’ve got one and a few others here 👍
  9. @How1, you might like this
  10. Yeah I know what you mean, I’ve played this and it’s quite a driving Bassline behind the song, Ranchie McLean isn’t it in that video, I’ve also seen Robbie Shakespeare on some credits before , not sure if he also played on the album
  11. Two great tracks there, welcome to jamrock is imo the best one Damien ever did, definitely in my top 10 favourite tunes, one step forward is a great Bassline to play, pretty sure Boris Gardiner played that on the album with the Upsetters
  12. Looks like a kay cort 70-80s to me
  13. That doesn’t sound long for 35 songs, I’d struggle with that, good luck it all sounds good 👍
  14. Have you tried just adjusting the bridge saddles up a bit before you do anything else to see if it makes any difference
  15. Just to catch up here, when you fret single notes on your bass do they all buzz on all strings
  16. That’s a good one, I’ve played that quite a few times, mikey Craig is a great player, another one i like is this
  17. Welcome Viper, great introduction 👍
  18. I’ve been playing some sly and Robbie today, this is a great album and there’s some nice Basslines on it to play .this too with Linval Thompson
  19. On strings direct ,if you look at the bridge description there’s a link for the screws which gives the size as 5 X 1"
  20. Thanks, I don’t play with a pick so went finger style, it was quite a while back so I might have another go
  21. That’s a great one, did you find it tricky to learn, I tried it but struggled up to speed
