  1. I made one for my old shell pink jazz that I put together as a project, I think they work quite well, I play with a fairly light touch so it wasn’t a huge difference but if for some reason you wanted to reduce digging in it would work
  2. I find the custom shop 1960 pickups very good and the noiseless ones in my jazz elite are really good, I’m not too sure on the electronics of those though as it’s an active jazz, but it has passive mode, would they work?
  3. Hi SH, I’ve got some original isolated drum tracks saved from Carlton Barrett which I use for playing over , don’t know if they are of any assistance to you, you might be able to break them down ..
  4. My drum skills are pretty much nil , stick with it I’m sure it will come
  5. Just remembered I had this one saved of Donovan miller, you might like this @SH73
  6. Yeah definitely a different feel compared to metal, check out some of Karigan reggae drummer video’s, he’s really good, you might have to browse through as he’s got lots of different ones like, one drop, roots , rockers etc
  7. Just watching a film and was surprised to hear an Anthony Johnson track in the background, classic tune
  8. I was just about to share one similar to that, I think there was one for sale here once like this
  9. Not really as the foam will mute the fretted notes while the fretwrap is the open strings
  10. They dampen and cut down the overtones of open strings , I’ve got them on all my basses
  11. Pretty sure admin/moderator has to do this for you, there’s no setting for it 🙂
  12. I’ve got quite a few fender jazzes various colours and types , the one I’d say is a favourite is a 2014 Olympic white US one, but very close is a jazz elite, both very different , it took me a while to get used to the elite active controls but now I know the sweet spots , and build wise I think you would struggle to get a better quality than the elite
  13. Thanks BA, it sounds and feels very different to my other precisions , sort of a different character
  14. Thanks Paul, it’s ok for now but it’s an option If I had to
  15. Thanks wot , it’s definitely been well played
  16. Thank you ped, that’s the thing it feels and plays really good, I think I just need to get on with playing it and not worrying about things, excuse the messy bass room I’m moving things around
  17. Hi all, on Tuesday I bought a late 71 early 72 precision I really liked the look of, nice dark rosewood fretboard, great sunburst and 41mm slim neck, only 1 owner from new, it’s been a real players bass so definitely not a case queen, it arrived with heavy flats which wasn’t for me and a high action , so I’ve spent today setting it up with old LTF’s from my other precision and it sounds and plays amazing, now I normally only like 100% original basses (and I’ve turned down lots because they wasn’t) but this has had new pots , apart from that it’s all original, so quick question, would the replaced pots bother you, do you think I’m being too fussy
