Hey guys, Need some help on this one. I usually play bass in my band but there's this one song where I play acoustic guitar. For most of the track its pretty bare but towards the end the song kicks in gun's blazing like it's World War 3. It sounds great but, obviously, there is no bass because I'm playing guitar. It doesn't have the same "balls to it" feel like I would want it to because there is no bass. So I need to play bass WITH MY FEET! (not actually holding the bass between my leg's but with foot pedals ) Any clue's?? The closest I can come to figuring out what to do is to sell the house and buy a Moog Taurus when one pop's up on ebay every 2 year's. Another option would be to buy a fancy laptop and a midi foot controller. Both quite expensive options. I just need something to play long sustained bass notes - that's all. Please throw all options at me! Thanks fella's, Josh

Wouldnt like to throw a spanner in the works but my guitarist has bought one recently and you can hear quite a tone change when the pedal's on to when it's bypassed. It's a worry. Is the delay digital?

Hey guys, I need some quick advice on IEM's. I need a cheap transmitter and reciever (I can buy a nice pair of SCL2's afterwards) for a band setting. Obviously I need something which is fairly reliable and something which aint gunna break 10 mins into a set. Ive looked on the internet and in the cheap market I have come across T Bone, DB Technologies, LD systems. Is there anything else? Hope you guys can help me out with advice as I need to purchase the goods ASAP. Thanks chaps, Josh

Hey guys, Ive got 2 x Boss GE7 EQ pedals up for grabs. One of them belongs to the guitarist in my band and he doesn't need it anymore. He's looking for a CS-3 Compressor or anything similar. No Behringer please So for the other EQ pedal (which belongs to me), Im up for offers really! A Volume pedal for an active bass, may be interested in an Electro Harmonix pedal or an AKAI HEADRUSH + some cash. Just let me know what you've got. Thanks! Josh
Im definately interested mate. How do you stick the pedals down on it? I assume velcro? Is it a delivered price too? Cheers
I've got some sticky velcro that I'll throw in with it - however it's not including postage. I'll have to see how much it is to post but I imagine it will be in the region of a tenner. What do you think? Josh

Hello hello hello, For sale is a Diago Pedalboard - the Showman version. This has been used so keep that in mind if you want to purchase this solid piece of equipment. I cant put up pics up because the board is at my practice space so i cant show you pics till tuesday. Im selling because the pedalboard is just too big, I need to downsize to be fair on my 3 pedals! Also, I am skint as skint can be. The price of being a musician right!?! Let me know, Josh
I've got a mint Boss LMB-3 Limiter / Enhancer you can have for £40 posted with a new battery. That's got to be cheaper than the fuel to go and try one out, surely? Certainly would be if you were going to drive down here to test it! John.
lol, thanks for the offer. I think I want to try it out first before I buy. That's one thing I've learnt in the past! -
Hey guys, Im looking into getting a compressor to even out my tone live. Is there anyone who lives in Sheffield or nearby where I can try it out (possibly borrow) in my rehearsels with the band so I can get a real feel for it. I am very reliable! Thanks guys - would appreciate your help, Josh
hey i just bought this from sound control today!! http://www.dbxpro.com/266XL/266XL.php i have to say that its amazing value!! i got mine for 75 quid!! brand new!! just check the spec for yourself!! took it to a fairly low level band practice tonight and hooked it up to the effects loop of my trace combo and it sounds really good! pretty comprehensive controls for all you fine tuning people out there but its also a few buttons on it that make gettin a good overall sound a breeze!! worth a try for anyone looking for something versitile becauase its two channel with both XLR and normal jack inputs and outputs! so it will work with anything!! good for the studio 2 i'd imagine!! get your self one and see what you think
I was reading some reviews on this particularly compressor (on Harmony Central as you do...) Sorry to dampen the mood on the thread chaps but Ive been reading that this compressor does have an issue of "clicking." Anyone come across this? Or are these just vicious rumours Josh

I didn't realise Sound Control stocked these! I need a compressor apparently. Somebody recommended me to get one to punch through the mix more. Im not too sure but I sure wouldn't mind getting my hands on one of these babies and trying one out!
Apparently the transmitter (not the receiver) has a "trim" control on the side. The manual advises as follows - "For INSTRUMENT: While playing the instrument at typically loud levels, check the AF peak indicator on the receiver. If AF peak indicator is easily illuminated and distortion is heard through the system, it may be necessary to adjust the transmitter audio input level. To adjust the transmitter audio input level, gently turn the instrument trim control counterclockwise until the AF peak indicator is illuminated only on audio peaks" Does this make any sense ?
Well I thought that was the problem. I adjusted it and it made no dofference. I even tried the "mic" trim which did nothing of course. Very fustrating.
I've never used either of these, but do they have input gain controls on the receiver ? You might need to reduce the gain to compensate for higher output.
The Audio Technia Reciever has an output volume control but whether turned down or turned to the max it didn't seem to solve the problem
you could be overloading the input stage of the wireless system with 18V pre from the bass.... I've come across this problem a lot.
This is what I thought might be the problem

Hey guys, It might be just me and my thick skull. However, It might not be. I was bought the Ashton AWM200BP Wireless system for guitar/bass for Christmas. When I plugged it and played the signal degredation was pretty bad and was distorting a fair bit. I took it back to the shop and had it exchanged for a better Audio Technica 700 series Wireless System. But I had the same problem! I tried everything. Changed all the leads, tried all the different channels, tried every combo of volumes on the reciever and with the bass. No success! Is it my bass? I play a Bongo Bass which does have an 18V preamp - could this be the problem? I tried the wireless system with my Taylor and didn't seem to have any problems what so ever. So is it my bass? Or is it something else? Input would be valued as this is doing my nut in! Thanks guys, Josh

Looks like I aint going to get that amazing tone then lol. Do Musicman sell the bongo pup's and the preamp as seperates? It'll be good for future reference. Musicman really need to make a bongo that looks sexier than it's tone

Whats the difference between the pups in the bongo and the 'Ray? Are they totally different?
