1.
Wanted to put DR's on the bass when I got it but it doesn't seem they do tapered.
They do - have a long for the 'Long Necks'.
2.
I have noticed an ergonomic thing happening to me when I stand and play, and I wonder if I'm alone on this or if others identify with me and have solved it in someway [...] Since playing five and six string bass, I have found myself hunching over the neck to see the finger board better.
Out of interest do your strings follow the camber of your neck? I've never had a problem seeing the fingerboard on my basses but I played a student's one recently and his action was set so that his strings were in a straight line - this meant that when looking down at the board his view of all the other strings was obscured by the B string.
I still find it FAR too easy to just watch my fingers when practising at home [...] Whether I'm standing up or sitting down, I now choose something in the room to focus on and I look at that to ensure that I don't start watching my fingers again.
I wouldn't really advocate this approach - remember that practicing and playing are two different scenarios. Practicing at home gives us the opportunity to study everything we do under a microscope, to fine tune our motor skills and spot any bad habits creeping in and to do this we need to look at what we are doing - try practicing in front of a mirror, you won't feel like your eyes are glued to your fretboard then but you'll still be able to focus on what your hands are doing and from a perspective that often highlights inefficiencies of technique previously unnoticed.
3. A slightly tenuous link to 'musically related stuff' I know but I've checked with a mod and they've OK'd this so... Up for sale is an Ikea 'Jerker' (seriously, who comes up with these names?!) desk. I've seen this desk often recommended in the pages of Future Music etc. as a good cheap alternative to specialist studio furniture and if you Google it you'll see many owners singing its praises on music forums and lamenting that it's no longer available (replaced by the flimsier 'Fredrik'). As my studio consists of pretty much just a MacBook these days the desk has become a bit too big for my needs and leaves too much space for coffee mugs and the like... I'm after £25 but it would need to be collected from west London, it flat packs though so it's easy enough to transport. The height of the desk and shelf is fully adjustable and also included will be a slide out keyboard shelf not shown in the photo:
4.
Let me tell you, it was a pain in the @rse getting it out of the flightcase - it is a very snuggily fitting case, took me 45 minutes with the combined effects of gravity, shaking and levering for it to be extracted!! Case is available - currently being used as a makeshift table for a load of geraniums!
Haha, I can imagine. You should post some pics of it in the case if you have any (if not I'll check to see if I still have) - I considered the case a good selling point as it's totally roadproof!
5.
I can't remember to be honest - I picked it up from a rehearsal space near Wimbledon Park tube station, but don't remember the name of the guy I bought it from.
Yep, this used to be my cab (and OBBM's before me). Great cab, served me well - these pics are the first time I've ever seen it out of the flightcase!
6. Hi Bilbo, any reason you need to go as far back as GCSE? I studied A-Level Music and Grades 7 & 8 Music Theory at college years ago without ever having done the GSCE - all they required was that I sat a Grade 5 crash-course when I started.
7. OK, note this is the original (and still much sought after) Lexicon 1u rack mount JamMan - not the inferior Digitech pedal. It has had the memory upgrade which increased delay/looping time from 8 seconds to 32 and is complete with manual, power adaptor and both foot pedals. Famous users of the Lexicon JamMan include/d Michael Brecker, David Torn, Michael Manring, Bill Frisell, Chet Atkins etc. and there's a wealth of information about this unit over at Loopers-Delight. As I understand it, this is still one of the few loopers that can send out and accept MIDI clock signals, allowing sequencers or drum machines to sync to the tempo of your loop or, alternatively, allowing you to capture loops which are perfectly timed to the MIDI tempo. Looking for £200 plus postage.
8. I'll take the DiMarzio Model J pickups thanks, PM sent.
9. PMs replied to.
Would you accept £6 for the theory books posted? Are the "answers" actually all filled in?
Hi Mike, flicking through these again I see that not only are the exercises completed but I've also made other notes throughout - I think it may be better if I withdraw these from sale.
10. Yep, I've got it and agree with the above comments.
11. Ditto to all the positive comments above; my sale of a rack case to Rowbee was very straightforward - friendly emails and prompt payment (he was even keen to leave a deposit though none was required).
12. Thanks for all the interest, this is now sold.

14.
Whats the string spacing like at the bridge? It looks kinda narrow, but maaaaaaan i'm tempted.....
Looks like about 16.5mm string top to string top.
15. I bought this to have as a back-up for my GWB1, however I can't really afford the luxury of a spare instrument at the moment so am offering it up for sale. See here for the specs and here to see what Gary Willis has to say about this model. SOLD As this bass doesn't have a case, and I don't currently have a suitable box to ship it in, collection only from west London.
16. Boss DD-5 pedal for sale, complete with box and manual: Sold
17. I have two Gator rack cases available, one 4u and one 2u, both standard depth. Product specs can be found here and here. Collection from west London preferred but can post at cost. Sold Sold
18. Another 10-stringer here.
19. Hi Lee, Not interested in any trades for basses I'm afraid, though there are some amps I would consider part exchanging for (LMII etc.).
20. Remember £800 includes the footswitch, rack ears and Epifani padded carry bag too.
21. Free to anyone that wants it (collection from west London preferred): Sony TC-K511S 3-head hifi stereo cassette deck with Dolby S (same as the one in the top of the pic here). It's sat in a box for years, just got it out to archive some old rehearsal tapes. Heads might need adjusting though as it's been a bit temperamental with my 15 year old TDKs!
22. Available again.
