1. I got to see KC back on the ConstruKction tour so haven't jumped on a ticket yet due to the price.
2. Given there's only a month to go they need to hurry up and announce any remaining artists as it's looking very thin on the ground currently.
3. Hi L1zz1e, I am based just down the road from you in Chiswick and can certainly help you. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/180288-bass-tuition-available-in-west-london/ Steve
4. I'd love to see Jimmy Johnson and Ric Fierabracci.
5. If anyone has a spare ticket for London please let me know.
6. I will be playing with violinist Anna Phoebe (Jon Lord, Jethro Tull, Oi Va Voi, Roxy Music, Trans Siberian Orchestra etc.) again on Thursday at The Great Escape festival in Brighton. We are playing The Hub stage at 3.30pm. If any Basschatters are at the festival do come along and say hi! 7.
Band in a box has some 'cheesy' sounds which dosen't cut it for me. I also have Ireal Pro which is great for lead sheets and some quick practice with the accompaniment but I'm searching for something that has some great sounds and dosen't sound like its from the 80's.
I haven't used BIAB for years but when I did I would port it through a software sampler to give me better sounds.
8. Hey guys, thanks for the kind offers! I'm still waiting to hear back from the band leader but I'll PM you in the meantime
9. Hi all, I have a gig with an orchestra in London on Saturday, May 3rd. I'm not sure of the set-up yet but I'm thinking I may need a small cab (my 3x10 will be too big), do any Londoners have a small lightweight cab - a 1x12 for example - I could borrow for the afternoon and evening please? I would be more than happy to return the favour by way of a free lesson or something. Many thanks, Steve
10. Anybody going to see Yolanda Charles Project Funk tomorrow at the Half Moon in Putney? http://www.halfmoon.co.uk/event/1122
11. This is tonight, if any of you are coming be sure to say hi!
12. The guy in the video below seems to be using some sort of stand, I've never seen one anywhere else though: http://youtu.be/JrtoaB-hy5g
13.
That's great, I really like Cynic, managed to catch them on the reunion tour in (I think) 2007, unfortunately Malone wasn't on bass then - though whoever it was, was very capable. Thinking about it, if you're in Linear Sphere I'd have seen you supporting them? Was somewhere in Camden, forget the venue name. The note choice and technique in that video is exemplary, I loved the runs and chords he was playing, so tasteful and really served the song.
Hi Graham, yes we supported them at Dingwalls in Camden. Chris Kringle was playing bass on that tour and he is an excellent player too - he was also playing with them when I saw them back in '93.
14. I just found this and had to be the first to share it here: http://youtu.be/hq_DiR5frEA Malone, and in particular his work on Cynic's Focus album, was a major influence on me and is the reason I picked up both the fretless bass and Chapman Stick. I've ripped so many things from his playing - the Linear Sphere album is littered with them!
15. Some more PSP, on One Shot Not: http://youtu.be/hjOcuY-tjhk http://youtu.be/WeLmVWzRiY0
16.
I'm struggling to find a good teacher in East London/West Essex so I'm considering lessons via Skype.

Hope an East London tutor replies to this as it would be very useful for me too.....
Hi both, I teach and am based in south east London if this is of any interest to you? http://basschat.co.uk/topic/180288-bass-tuition-available-in-south-east-london
17.
Just found out I'll be playing every day at Glastonbury, and got three dates in Brazil before that, I get a proper fee too. Funny old world init
That's awesome, all with Sheema?
18. I will be playing with Anna Phoebe (Jethro Tull, Trans Siberian Orchestra etc.) at the Jazz Cafe in Camden on Friday, April 25th, supporting Joe Driscoll & Sekou Kouyate. Anna Phoebe: Joe Driscoll & Sekou Kouyate: Ticket info: http://mamacolive.co...-sekou-kouyate/
19. I am trying too but had no luck so far, getting tired of tickets appearing and then disappearing so will probably just give up soon.
20. The article is ambiguous as to whether this is about instruments in the cabin or the hold:
Under the revised regulations airlines must accept smaller instruments and clearly state the terms and conditions under which they are put in the hold.
21.
How did the fan club mailing list folk get on with ticket buying this morning?
I'm curious too as I will be part of the scrum on Friday!
