Victor Bailey fender jazz preamp problem
seanobrien replied to seanobrien's topic in Repairs and Technical
Hi guys, thanks for the comments. The bass is now getting checked out by a good tech. Will let you know what's wrong with it when I hear from him. Thanks -
The bass pot on my Victor bailey jazz stopped working, left it to a guy to put new pot in. He replaced the concentric pot with one the same value. Now the bass pot has to be turned up full before it works, treble is still on when it is turned off and mids aren't working as they should. Should i tty replacing the pcb board, or fit a new preamp. Appreciate any help or advice. Thanks

Hi there folks, Does anyone know if Sire v7 gen2 pickups will fit a v3 gen1. I've seen a set for sale. Also will it make a big difference to the overall tone of the bass. Many thanks for any info.

Hi folks, I have a Markbass f1 amp, I've had it for a few years always works perfect but lately when I turn it on, it takes about a minute before it kicks in and any sound comes out. Just wondering if anyone else has came across this problem with a Markbass amp. Appreciate any help or advice. Thanks

Upgrading pickups on sire v3 gen 1 bass.

Ok Fleabag. Thanks for that info. -
I have a set of Seymour Duncan bassline pickups that I took out of a fender jazz 24 many moons ago. Just wondering if they would be a big improvement on the stock sire pickups. Would love a bit more jaco burp on the bridge pickup, so wondering if the basslines would do this and any other difference in tone they could give. Thanks.

Sadowsky Will lee vs fender jazz Victor bailey bass.

Hi Misdee. Thanks for that, very well put. I totally agree with you. I have no intention of parting with my old vb bass, it is a beautiful sounding and a very well made bass. I have a couple of other basses that I might sell to fund going for the sadowsky. Just not sure until I try it out. Cheers! -

That's a great recommendation. What about the price, is it about right €2199? I've seen on thomann a new one for the same price although made in Germany, maybe there is a difference between the two. -

Thanks for that info Luke. The bass is the same as yours. I would love to compare them side by side but the shop is a good 2 and a half hour drive for me. -

Sorry, love the slim neck and the sound on the Victor bailey jazz, I do find it a bit heavy. Just wondering would the Sadowsky be lighter and would the neck be thin like a jazz. Also would the mids be as good as the jazz. -
Hi there folks. I have a Victor bailey jazz but have seen a Sadowsky Will lee bass for sale in a shop, looking €2199 used in good condition. wondering has anyone ever tried both. Would the Sadowsky be any better than my Victor bailey jazz? Appreciate any info. Thanks.
