Absolutely gorgeous bass, Celinders are special, but a fretless I played years ago absolutely blew me away. Someones going to get a great bas here. By the way, as a bit of a Celinder geek, I think this would technically be called a J Vintage (Alder/Rosewood/Active/60's spacing) as opposed to a Classic (Passive) model. Anyway, good luck with the sale and bump for a gorgeous bass from the Celinder bench.

I really recommend checking out this bass. I have one alongside a lot of more 'desirable' gear, (rosewood board), and it's still my favourite bass. What's cool about these Japanese 75 reissues, is that they have 60's style pick up spacing. Meaning the rear pick up has more of a jaco growl/warmth rather than a thin/harsh sound. It really is the best of both worlds IMO. Bump for a gem of a bass. Good luck with the sale.

Now will accept £2800.00 Sale only please. ***Soundclip not working for some reason, I've stuck it on my website, here's the link: http://jophillpotts....m/FOR_SALE.html I'm selling my beautiful Alleva Coppolo LM5 Deluxe. Blocked and bound stunning example of Jimmys work. This bass has a vintage tint on the neck, the inlays and binding look really pretty in this finish. Stunning. If you are looking for a funk machine with an amazing slap tone this bass will get you there. Really traditional in sound and feel. Spec: Body - Ash Neck - Maple Fingerboard - Maple. Block inlays, bound (Deluxe model) Electronics - AC single coil pickups. AC pre amp. Straplocks -Dunlop Scale length - 34" String spacing - 19mm @ bridge Strings - DR Fatbeam 45-125 Year of construction - 2009 Weight - 10lbs 4oz Comes with a hard case. This bass really is a lovely instrument, and does the Ash/Maple 'thing' so well, but with a 5th string. You are welcome to come and try it if you need convincing! Condition: Really good condition. There is a small mark on the headstock and a ding on the side of the body near the jack. The two pre amp controls have a tiny crack in the lacquer (not in the wood) coming from their mounting holes. I gather this happened in shipping, very minor and hard to photograph. Zero issues here. Worth mentioning that the A string groove on the nut is a touch low with my DR strings. Very easy to sort this, I was going to do this but I need to raise some funds and my GAS is through the roof at the mo! Really would rather have the bass collected/arrange to meet. But I can arrange for it to be shipped if really necessary. At buyers cost/risk of course. Please PM me with any questions you may have. Thanks for looking and I look forward to hearing from you.

Funny things that people say to you at gigs
fingerz replied to Tom Brookes Music's topic in General Discussion
"Hawkwind!" A great bass heckle on a gig a few months back accompanied by a knowing look. I have no idea why he shouted this at me, but I got the impression it was a good thing. -

Oh god it's on hold! 'Deposit paid'. (Deposit that would buy a Fodera!) Ah well, maybe next time

I saw that bass on the site the other day - Amazing. Interesting comment about the duty, surely if he's selling it on his site the price is the end cost to a uk buyer? I'd be surprised if he said duty goes on top .. Even if I had the money for that, I couldn't gig it. Something like that needs to stay in a studio/on a wall in the lounge (!). Imagine if a techy knocked it over, or a punter poured a pint over it!! I'd say your moneys pretty safe tied up in something like that. If someone on here buys it, can we all have a go?
Couldn't agree more having just acquired my 3rd Celinder !!!!!, can you have too many ?
Wow. THREE!! I bet they are all fantastic instruments. A 5 string Update would round off the collection nicely . This bass set a new level for a Super J 5, and I've played pretty much everything out there.. Preaching to the converted here aren't I ?!

This is not an uncommon experience to read on here. They've not got any better then! I think/hear it's good for guitar gear. A few friends have just wandered in to shops for something rare and come out with it under their arms. You don't tend to get a good deal on the whole, but it's not about that all the time.. Bass wise... YUK !.. Can't stand the manner of the people in the bass cellar (or whatever it's called), and never been that impressed with the variety, compared to what you'd find in most town Centres. Staff are rude and arrogant IME. Boring Boring Boring! Next time, defo go to: The Gallery. Totally different kettle of fish. Top guys, great stock. Andy Baxter - vintage mania! By appointment only though. Great choice if that's what you are after/saving for! Bass Gear - these guys are out towards Reading. But they are as enthusiastic as the rest of us, and have all sorts of cool, new, old, traditional, rare, usual, whatever, basses in stock. Different every time I go. With all those guys out there who care, Denmark street seems like a waste of a day. Hopefully they'll change sometime soon.

Ross jumped on the sale of my East U Retro Deluxe pre amp. Getting in there first, but keeping me up to date with his movements (he was about to get on a plane) so as I knew not to worry about contact. This didn't really effect things, always fast to get back to me, really pleasant and straight up to deal with. Payment was immediate once we'd settled on a plan. I have no problems highly recommending Ross as a Buyer/Seller. He's a stand up guy. Cheers, hope you enjoy!
