1. I didnt know that OLP were liscenced by spector - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/5-String-Bass-OLP-Li...1QQcmdZViewItem Is this a new thing? it looks just as good as the low end spectors
2. seen this, he's said he's willing to let it go for cheap, a good clean and a refinish and it would make a very nice bass http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Warwick-Fortress-One...1QQcmdZViewItem
3. quality bass player, check his other vids his voice sounds like Louis Armstrong
4. I dont really know too much about this bass player, I'm sure some of you already know what Im about to say, but I thought I'd share it with you anyways. I came across the vid on youtube, Its interesting the way he's a lefty, but strings his bass backwards, so the Low string is where the high string would normally be and vice versa, this leads me to believe that he learnt using a right handed bass turned upside down and not restrung to accomodate left handed playing i.e the strings left in place, but the most interesting part is that his slap technique is also upside down, he slaps with the fingers and pops with the thumb, heres the vid- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLyV5JLvxM0
5. There was a similar case not so long ago, strangely enough involving the same model of bass, but this is far more extreme http://cgi.ebay.com/Peavey-T-40-Axe-Bass_W...tem220123641381
6. I wouldnt use T-cut, I did once and I ended up with what appeared to be smears on the area that I used it, if I were you I'd just leave it, black tends to show up more lacquer scratches than other colours anyways.
7. Just stunning, congrats
8. This one might be worth a look aswell, bargain price http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WARMOTH-CUSTOM-FRETL...1QQcmdZViewItem
9. The rockbass line use the same pups as the actual warwicks, the wood and pre amp is differen though, really good basses for the money, and they look quite nice
10. Well, why not grab some quality parts off of the bay, body, pups, hardware, grab a graphite jazz neck from status, get your pre-amp and take it to a good guitar luthier or tech and you got yourself a sweet jazz to your specs
11. Just a heads up, someone from here might want it http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/John-Taylor-Duran-Du...1QQcmdZViewItem
12. so next question is, is the seller a little misguided in regards to what they are selling, or, are they a chancer trying their luck?
13. Thanks for your opinions guys, as I was removing the strings from the bass in preperation for the nut change guess what? yes the flimsy bits of plastic on the adjust'a'nut went ping and it all came apart, and I was very careful in its handling, and the tech I took it to agreed that a good solid nut would be better, so we discussed my options, and came to the conclusion that a custom made one cut from a piece of bleached cows shin bone would be best. apparently graphite nuts tend to wear with frequent string changes, and I prefered the idea of bone instead of brass just to be a bit different. Will take about a week to get it all done, will let you know how it turns out
14. Well its got Ernie ball slinkys on it now, Im not sure what strings it came with, I agree that a nice ocean blue with silver hardware would look the business, I recommend these to anyone, they're so versatile and full sounding
15. Hello all, here's some pictures that were kindly supplied by the bass' previous owner, Im getting the nut replaced tommorow. Its a fantastic bass. It appears to be brighter than it is in these pics, its actually quite a deep red touching on burgundy, its pretty light weight aswell and balances nicely when you wear it. I love it.
16.
Still waiting for those pictures in the Bass Porn section matey!
As soon as I get the nut sorted there will be pics!
17.
MB1. be) The bass centre do warwick brass adjustable ones for £10.00 +p+p.
I cant seem to find them on their website, could you possibly post a link?
18. Im quite confident that this is a bolt on version, and they go for £1099 in the shops, this person is selling this one for £1250 second hand, and has quoted the neckthru price instead of the bolt on one, how many bids do you reckon it will get? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WARWICK-THUMB-PRO-AC...1QQcmdZViewItem
19. Hello all, just want peoples opinions really, Im going to change the adjust'a'nut on my doublebuck, as I find them to be a bit flimsy and they've fallen apart on me before, I rarely adjust the action from the head end so im going to change it something solid, Im thinking either graphite or bone, I quite like the idea of a bone one, what would you go for?
20. Hello all, has anyone else noticed that USA made peavey basses always seem to go very cheap second hand? Apart from the Cirrus series which seems to hold its value quite well, the other usa stuff like the milleniums, or the vintage bits like the T-45 or T-40 always seem to go for very cheap, despite being of USA build and quality, particularly the earlier models, I mean a USA millenium in a shop, will cost you around a grand, thats how much it was in soundcontrol anyways, the ones I seen go on ebay are lucky if they reach £300, thats a £700 hit from new price. I cant understand why they dont hold their value, perhaps its because they dont have the same rep as say Fender? Anyways, two on ebay that someone may want to have a go at, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Peavey-USA-Millenium...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Peavey-USA-made-Mill...1QQcmdZViewItem

ESP/LTD

I'd go for the ESP LTD les paul bass, comes with EMG-HZ pups, good decent bass.
23. Wouldnt bother with the bass centre, a fair bit of stock granted but crap customer service since Dan left.
24. Found this on youtube, not particularly educational or anything, its a short film of the warwick bass and framus guitars factory http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWdkQp5RRKQ...ted&search=
25. Hello all, got the trade for my fender precison, a warwick corvette double buck, in a deep red oil finish, basically it was a straight trade, Fender Usa Precision with case and candy, for the doublebuck, new gator hardcase, with all the candy i.e manual, truss rod tool wax etc. It totally mint, not one mark on it, a 2005 one I believe, anyways, got it home this morning, plugged it in and wow, I can say that this is the nicest sounding warwick Ive owned, Ive had a corvette standard, thumb bolt on, streamer lx, this one beats them all, Its way more versatile than the precision, its got an active 3 band pre amp, 2 passive humbuckers and two coil tap switches that allow me to go between the two pickups and run them as series or parallel or both. and it came with straplocks, Im one happy bunny right now, rest assured pics in the porn section soon.
