  1. Hiya pobolycwm again! My dad used to watch that on S4C!
  2. Guitarist's dad's retirement do from the CID, 23 years ago. We were awful, the police were nice & one p***ed-up CID person got off with the snooty master of ceremonies girlfriend (it was at a posh hotel). I bought a proper tuner after that gig... 😬
  3. Don't use tin foil from a KitKat wrapper to replace a blown amp fuse at a gig
  4. 'politeness' - mmm...its got a certain je ne sais quoi... ...I'm not sure about the whole engaging with people bit though. The politeness bit would be so much easier without the other people.
  5. It makes them reeeeech!
  6. You are Scott Devine & I claim my year's free subscription to Scott's Bass Lessons!
  7. 'The Magnificent Seven ' The Clash - on Radio 6
  8. Sorry, I missed that. Just how loud does the Vanderkey go again?

  10. Sky-blue pink with yellow polka-dots. The only way to fly!
  11. According to Carole Kaye, it should be a P bass with flatwounds & played with a felt pick (axe ⛏). She played on over 10,000 records, so it must be right!
  12. Such a beautiful bass, I'm sure it'll be good as new & with added character & history
  13. Fab! Really like it. Nice playing
  14. Why do Pros use a P Bass... ...to get to the other side! Seeeemple!
  15. Hiya Nibbos Cool name!
  16. Its covered in 'Zen and the Art of Stringing the Abomination that is the Guitar' - Chapter 12 'Well go on, if you really must' *Not that it matters if a guitarist is in tune, he'll still play all the wrong notes!
  17. Ha! And I thought you were going to say 'badly'
  18. As long as you've learned your lesson, we'll say no-more about it. I have a harp - how would you recommend tuning?
  19. You're in soooo much trouble now @ahpook
  20. A novice's error, my dear ahpook! You haven't considered tuning by harmonics, using a polychromatic tuner or even 5,6,8 & 12 string instruments! A common mistake made by those without the benefit of Advanced Proficiency - Turny-Twisty Things at Top Of Bass Guitar' degree (correspondence course - $99.99 including embossed & gilt certificate )
  21. SSSShhhhhhhhh! Don't tell the other ones!
  22. What a startling coincidence! That's my alma mater! Happy days, studying for my 'Advanced Proficiency - Turny-Twisty Things at Top Of Bass Guitar' degree (correspondence course - $99.99 including embossed & gilt certificate).
  23. Aah! But just think how much you've learnt! Next time you tune your bass, you'll have hundreds of correct combinations to choose from!
  24. You're right, of course. Bongos player maybe? (*disclaimer* the above references to percussionists are meant as humour only. Drummers are lovely people, whose skill and dexterity is truly a thing to behold.)
