1. I think it all depends on the condition of my strings.
 2.
[sub][/sub]
Love the Capri Orange one.
 3.
Sure ive not put pics of mine in here, if i have oooopps My first Bass and the one that made me want to start playing a year or so ago. 94 Jap, 57 RI neck and thats about all even Fender USA can tell me about it, not an official model from what i can gather but all the numbers etc match up :-)
Nice bass. I think it maybe one of the "Foto-Flame" basses. It's not real flammed wood but a "photo" of flammed wood, stuck to the body and painted, then lacquered over. 4. What happened to the Kingbass?
 5.
How could I forget this? This and the Chilis was really my gateway from the world of rock to the world of funk. And this... Actually, just any live p-funk really.
Spot on. mate.
 6.
It's no Status bass. Looks like it might be a Washburn Series 1000 that's had the horns restyled but certainly not a Status.
Spot on. Truss-rod cover is a dead giveaway. $250..tops.
 7.
Old thatchers never die, they just get put out to grass.
8. I switched to a Badass II to replace the bridge on my Jap Jazz bass because the saddles would move around all over the bass-plate. I play quite hard sometimes and the G saddle especially use to fly all over the place. My Pbass had the problem of saddle screws unwinding and saddles then dropping. I put a Gotoh on that. This was done a few years back and I would never pay the prices charged for a Badass these days.
 9.
If ever you want to sell that then please please please put me first in line.
Will do.
 10.
I'm very lucky at the moment. My main band rehearses in headphones using a jamhub. It's an amazing sound, everyone has a personalised mix and its as loud as you want it, with excellent clarity. Also free. My funk band rehearses at very low volume despite the drumkit bring one of the loudest I've ever, ever come across. The kick drum looks like a cannon, its huge. The guy is just very good at reigning it in. I don't miss loud rehearsals.
I like the sound of that.
 11. I'm really lucky to own a Techsoundsystems 6x10", 2,100 watt power handling and weighs...66lbs. Best part is that the speakers are staggered, so the cab is a lot narrower than a 4x10", so getting up and down stairs and through doors is a breeze.

 15. What good friends he must have had,
 16. What's the problem with 4x10"s?, they're not 8x10"s.

Whats happening with the back to back bass / guitar combos in his other items?
Well, what happened was that in 2006, 3 young Chinese friends visited London and all went into a shop and ordered identical basses. Then they all decided to sell them at the same time. Oh and they all have exactly the same houses too. There, totally legit. You shower of suspicious bastards.
 18. Brilliant.
 19.
I was told this in all seriousness by a friend who studied jazz at a music college. He wasn't taking the piss, he was teaching a group of us some improv techniques.
really interested in the nuts nd bolts of your talk that you had. Can you expand?
 20.
This turned up recently...
That is splendid. More info, please.
 21.
As someone who has reached the point where I can play both fairly averagely, I can say that they are two entirely different things. Don't be fooled by the fact that they both have strings and frets, because that's pretty much where the similarity ends. I would say that once you've mastered the basics, the guitar is slightly easier because you can sound good playing by yourself, which can be a great confidence booster, but with the bass it really needs the accompaniment of other instruments for it to shine.
22.
Definition of jazz - they all play together and it sounds so bad they each do a solo to prove it's not their fault!
Are you a music writer?
 23.
Fair enough that you like them! The first video made me so upset that I had to stop 22 seconds in, almost immediately I had to put on the original record to remind myself why no one should ever try to tap it out on a bass and why it is such a brilliant standalone Macca track (can't improve on a masterpiece, just IMO). The second I was pretty indifferent to, fair enough if people like it, it wasn't offensive but it is times like that I would personally reach for a guitar as I don't bass fills the role even half as well.
1st vid made me turn off at 7 secs
