1. I remember seeing him on telly in the early 80's and he had this plexi-glass sphere covered in small speakers?
2.
Cheers I well remember sitting down to swatch this on the day, tape recorder going upstairs in my bedroom. The long awaited first time I would see my heros live in the flesh (So to speak) and then the bloody fuse went!!!!! you should have seen my face A
27 years ago. They blew everyone else off. Ermmm, were the best band on the day, I mean.
3. Enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMYsLqVNlm4&feature=related
4. 1:19 has me in stitches. Franks fear face. Put some juice in the van and head North, soon.
5. Very, very nice. Ashdown are making some great gear of late.
6.
I'll second that emotion - Babz are fantastic; so much so that I'll always use them, even if other sellers are a little cheaper (which isn't very often) because they're so fast and reliable.
7.
That's true, I had an active Yamaha with the same problem, about a month and the battery would be dead, regardless of how much it was played. I'd check that out.
Hi there, I put the Procell in last year into the Stingray, as I say, I lasted about a month. Put a standard copper top in after it and it's still going strong 10 months later.
8.
Same here.
I must have had a couple of duds then. Do they last as long as ordinary Duracells? When I put fresh batteries into my basses, I scratch the date on the side. The Procells lasted about a month in my Stingray.
9. Cheers. Will check Maplins.
10. What do you use them for and how long do they last. I'm I just brainwashed by Duracells advertising? Who makes a cheaper equivalent?
11. I've come to the end of my battery stash and need some Duracells or equivalent 9 volt batteries to put in my basses and pedals. Where do you buy yours? I've looked on ebay but I'm non the wiser. I tried those Duracell Pro Cell and they were rubbish, lasted no where near as long as the copper tops. I need about 20. Any ideas?
12.
I didn't, sorry! I was dressed like this, but without the sweatbands: Perhaps it was the Bass I was carrying that gave it away? Oh no, I'd left that at home...
Bin those shades and get some large Ray Ban Aviators. Cool tats.
13. I want to hurt whoever did this.
14. That stuff looks interesting.
15. That's the thread! It's all there but a lot of hard work. Good luck, mate.
16. The problem is going to be the cost. Because as I recall, you can't buy small amounts of 2 stage epoxy. When I worked at KGB Music, Keith had half gallon bottles of the stuff which we used for all kinds of applications. An afternoon on tinternet could brings something up.
17.
Found this. Is this suitable both in terms of the job and the quantity? http://marinestore.c...poxy_236ml.html
No, thats more of a flexible sealer. You need the standard stuff, I can't remember the exact code, (damn it). Give me a few mins.
18. If you can get a glass beaker and a glass rod, like in school chemistry, you can spread it on with the side of the rod, or anything similar shaped will do. Using a brush puts tiny little air bubbles into the epoxy, which are a pain when sanding as they leave little pits. Like I say, try to experiment on a bit of scrap first.
19. It's on here too, being sold by Wildus. Rob is a good lad and I've done deals with him in the past. If it were a 4 string I would be very interested.
20. West Systems, marine epoxy gives good results. Mix it well but slowly as to not get any air bubbles into the mix, apply thin coats but work quickly as it starts to cure. Get a radiused sanding block to cut back any high points and to see if there are any depressions, then reapply. Go through the grades of grit then polish to perfection. If you can get a scrap neck to practice on first, that my help too. Steve.
21. I said that I'm not a Muse fan boy, as in obsessing about the gear and such, like in a trainspotterish kind of way.....but, I really want one of those basses he was playing last night on Madness. Or an S2 with chrome Thunderbird pickups.
22.
If you can play root and fifth in all it's permutations, still serve the song, and keep it interesting then you are worthy of some of the best bass playing jobs on earth... If you can't then I would suggest that your quest to play other notes is a little early. Be f***ing awesome with root and fifth before you decide to move on... (I am being deadly serious)
There it is.
23. That's nice, Rich.
24.
Here's a close-up of the board on my '71P.
That's gotta be Brazilian.
