  1. That was my assumption too.. Therefore my advice is to consult the Bass player and follow his guidance - singers and guitarists get too caught up in diva tantrums to make rationale decisions 😉😉😉
  2. The Genzler Bass Array cabs look awesome - damn expensive but I fancy the BA210-3
  3. I opened a very similar thread to this a few weeks ago in the Gear forum.... The Genzler Magellan 800 was by far the top recommendation from fellow BCers. I couldn't try one locally so I ended up going for a Markbass Little Mark Tube which I'm very pleased with - it was significantly cheaper than the Genzler which is a big deciding factor as I also needed some budget for a cab.
  4. This would be great. I've no problem with the selling sub, that's a great way to generate the revenue needed for the costs of running this awesome community. As a subscriber I'd really appreciate not having the advertisements!
  5. The afternoon tea baggers had me laughing out loud!!
  6. I don't know Joe (will check him out) but Scotts material is good, especially his paid content - as many comment the free stuff on YouTube has become a little hit and miss The other guy I really like is Stuart Clayton (bass line publishing). Last year he did a bass riff of the week series on YouTube which was great and I've got a number of his giants of bass booklets. I recently had a Skype lesson with him for a very reasonable price to help me with a few bits I was finding difficult. I believe he's also just released some online paid for content but I've not looked at that yet.
  7. Keys in this video... though slightly different sound to the recorded version I have. Man I wish I looked like the drummer!!
  8. I subscribe to Apple Music (surely the eviliest of the evil). It's amazing value for the consumer. Where I used to spend £30-£40 on a few CDs a month; some good, most average, I now have almost unlimited music at the click of a button for £15 a month (family membership) - fully integrated with my car audio, my phone, Sonos systems, wireless headphones and my laptop. I've discovered music from bands and genres I would never have taken a risk on before. Surely as an artist this is a good thing!! The ability to reach potential fans, globally, is easier than ever before. As for the commercials, I should really do some research on what the impact is to the artist. I'm very unimformed on the comparisons between how much an artist received for an album outside the top 40 chart 10 years ago to how much they earn from digital sales and streaming plays now. Do streaming services lessen the impact of piracy ? Do you have longer sustained revenue on back catalogues of work (if I find an artist I like I will add many old recordings to my library too), wouldn't have done that with CDs or Cassettes. I can't see that I've noticed a significant change or decline in the life styles / celebritism of the biggest pop artists today than 10, 15 or 20 years ago. I'm also interested in understanding the impact on session musicians and recording engineers - is the new commercial model having an impact their businesses (positively or negatively).
  9. No! At least not when the context has been set as your generic cider guzzling pub punter. We're not debating the low end connoisseur who may choose to attend a show where the bass is a prominent instrument , a Vulfpeck or Marcus Miller gig for example. 😁😁
  10. Not looking for trades, I want to replace this with the EZ drummer VST
  11. Basses: I'd rebuy my Sandberg VT4 but, I'd replace my Mayones Jabba 5 with a Sandberg TM4. Amps: I just recently purchased a Little Mark Tube which I'm really impressed with so I'd stick with that - would swap my 4*10 cab for two 2*10s. Pedals: I'd stick with the MXR Octave and Env. Filters , would probably replace the Pork n Pickle with a grizzly bass and look for a new preamp. I'd also try and find funds to upgrade my compressor.
  12. ha, well if you ever need someone to dep for you, hit me up! Where do you guys play normally?
  13. I enjoyed this - this is the sort of band I'd love to play with. I'll definitely check out the EP!
  14. I should really commit myself to this challenge - this year I completely re-worked my pedal board, purchased a new Markbass amp head and a new Sandberg bass ... that's quite enough I think, well after I replace the cabinet I just sold that is. My question is, do presents count against you?? it's my 40th next year and the misses wants to get me something nice ..
  15. I've posted these guys in the other thread too (as have others) but Turkuaz are a great band
  16. These guys have been brought up on this forum before, but they're sooo good it's worth posting again. The Fearless Flyers, a Snarky and Vulfpeck love in.
  17. I like the North41 - they've just released a new album but I've not had a chance to listen yet.
  18. I only found about these guys recently when browsing through the history of this thread, I think it was that exact YT video that turned me on to them!
