Thanks for the link Alex.

I was connected to my Barefaced Compact but I've checked that and it still works fine.

Damn! Thanks though, I'll give Mark a call.

Had a rehearsal tonight and somehow managed to yank my Markbass SA450 off the top of my cab and onto the floor. I believe the problem is the jack socket as my lead end became bent and the socket looks misaligned. I can hear something coming out through the cab but only just so I think there's a connection issue. My main repair guy isn't back until Friday and he's normally pretty busy so I don't reckon I'll get it back in time for a rehearsal next Tuesday. Can anyone recommend someone reasonably local to Coventry that might be able to take a look? I really could do without this hassle as I was trying to decide whether to keep my Aggie GS112 cabs and sell my newly acquired Barefaced Compact, or vice versa!
Cheers mate - do you think the price is fair? I think so - bass is in great shape. I really thought this would have been snapped up. Would maybe consider (very!) near offer.
If it's the amount you're looking for, then it's fair. Seriously though, it's not an excessive amount considering the retail price for one of these babies. I'm sure you'll get some offers soon.

Thanks again to everyone for all the PMs and apologies for not replying at the moment but there have been quite a few. Several of them are asking for specific prices of the cabs which I don't really want to give at the moment until I'm sure they're for sale, as this is currently a feeler after all. Once I've made the decision and if it is to sell them, in the interests of fairness I promise to treat all interest in the chronological order it came in, either by PM or notes added to this thread. As I mentioned previously, I have several rehearsals this week and should have an idea by the end of Weds at the latest.
That compact must be seriously nice as I know you really liked the GS cabs - no problem using the photo and best of luck. Guess I better consider trying a compact eh J
Thanks Jas. I do really still love the cabs but I wanted to try a compact and I can't justify owning two complete rigs. I have a rock band rehearsal on Tuesday and a funk band rehearsal on Wednesday, so after using the Compact for these I'll know whether it really is for me or not. Thanks to everyone for the interest and the PMs and I should have a clearer picture midweek as to whether or not the Aguilar cabs are going, or if the Compact just isn't for me - and if it is, I think I'll invest in a second one. Also, if it's the Aggies that are going, I'll come up with a price based on what I paid Jas and taking into account a small amount of depreciation. Priority will probably go to people willing to take both of them. Cheers Rob

I just bought Steve's Barefaced Compact cab for a very reasonable price and it was a nice simple transaction. He's a great guy who even let me stay and watch the Manchester derby while he grooved on my Sterling. Thanks Steve

I've just picked up Flanker's Barefaced Compact and at the moment I love it, so I'm thinking I might move on my Aguilar GS cabs. I have two rehearsals and a jam booked in this week, so I'm going to be using the Compact and will get a better idea of whether it fulflls all my needs. If that's the case then the Aguilars will definitely be up for sale, but for the time being I'm just gauging if there's any interest out there? I bought these in March from Legion and they are in great condition, the only real issue being where he velcroed a Markbass head which has caused a small amount of "fluffing" on the top of one of them. I really am in two minds as I have had some great sounds out of these babies. I hope Legion doesn't mind if for now I use his pic but I need to tidy up first! Interestingly, the only thing I haven't owned in the pic is what's in the rack head! EDIT: Now for sale - I'm looking for £425 for both cabs. Last night I managed to yank my amp head onto the floor and need to recoup some money for repairs!
Try this one - guys are friendly if mostly US, and great deal of knowledge - also a good bass forum affiliated with this site. http://forums.musicplayer.com/ubbthreads.p...Board/19/page/1 Also try this: http://www.thestringnetwork.com Geoff
Geoff is correct, the musicplayer forums in general are excellent and the "low down lowdown" is full of great bass folk.

Thinking of starting/ joining a covers band
Rowbee replied to tjkennelly's topic in General Discussion
If you're joining someone else's band try and be open minded, as your idea of what is a good song isn't always shared by your bandmates or the audience. I play some songs I really, really don't like in my covers bands but no-one would ever tell because I try and be professional about it. -
What more can I say. Martin is a Basschat legend! Great guy, but you all know that anyway. Oh, and he bought my Ashdown t-shirt in a smooth as silk deal.

Mark King picks his nose and rubs bogeys into his hair
Rowbee replied to The Funk's topic in General Discussion
I assumed this thread was created by a troll!! Perhaps it's me (and it really could be) but he really sounds like Bill Bailey - and I don't mean Bill Bailey playing slap bass. -
Pricing aside, I saw one at the Wimbish\Calhoun gig a few months back in Leamington and it's an absolute beauty.
