+1 to the above threads. i have to say one thing that gets my goat is when a buyer starts negotiations via PM to buy my item,we get to the point of almost completing the sale then they stop replying to my PM's,if you change your mind then bloody well say so. this has happen with 2 B'C'ers very recently whilst negotiating a trade for my '62 r'i' P bass & it's damn annoying. sorry, rant over
Yes, this has happened to me lots of times and can make you pretty cynical. Whilst it is the buyer's prerogative to back out because nothing is legally binding, I've definitely had people really waste my time, not only through PMs but with conversations on the phone too. If I make an offer to buy, I always make a point of telling the seller that I will definitely complete the deal. This wasn't a rant, but it's over too.

rotosound strings - need some advice please :)
Rowbee replied to ray_6ao7's topic in General Discussion
I used the Swingbass ones several times because local shops only seemed to stock them or Elites and I wasn't particularly impressed with either brand. I personally found the quality control to be a little poor as I had several sets where at least one of the strings had a buzz which was found to be the string itself. If you're used to DR strings or something similar I would say it's probably not worth it just for some freebies. -

Bought a Gator pedal power supply from Pete and he was great to do business with. He always responded quickly to my messages and didn't seem to mind me hassling him!! Definitely recommended.

TRADE: Your Musicman Sterling for my Warwick Streamer?
Rowbee replied to Dubs's topic in Basses For Sale
Just out of interest, how much would the Streamer be worth if you were selling it here on the forum? I have two Sterlings and one has a maple board but I've got to be honest, I'm really just toying with the idea at the moment. I used to have a Jazzman Streamer and I found the neck felt a little round for my liking, is that normal amongst Streamers or Warwicks in general? -
PM sent (I think - I'm new to this site)
And replied to. Unfortunately it's now on Ebay and finishes around 7-30pm tonight so I'm afraid that if you want it you'll have to bid on it. Damn listing fees! It's not really a silly question. My own stupidity due to inexperience of my new rig having bought it days before a gig along with my bandmates never soundchecking at gig volume caused me to blow the speaker. As Ashdown didn't have any of their Blueline speakers in the country they asked if I would accept a UK made neo instead. I jumped at the chance! I'd like to clarify that it works perfectly now and has not been pushed and has only been gigged and rehearsed once since the new speaker was installed.

Considering the interest the signed Ox pic received I just wondered if there would be anyone out there who might be interested in this. I met Noel at a guitar show at the NEC in 1997 when he was promoting his signature Fender Jazz model. He was a really nice guy and shook my hand and smiled at my Hendrix flavoured ramblings. Afterwards he did a small gig where he mostly played guitar but then switched to his signature Jazz. The only song I really remember them playing was "Sorrow" and I'm not sure if it was Redding Willing and Able or just a collection of musos. Anyway, it's a very nice A4 Fender labelled pic of Noel in the 60's playing a sunburst Jazz and is signed "Good Luck, Noel Redding 97". I saw him sign other Hendrix memorabilia such as albums etc. with the "97" so I guess he was ensuring collectors weren't getting fleeced with authentic signatures from the 60's. I have no idea of the value of this item nor am I even sure I want to sell it hence the feeler so input is very welcome.

You might want to consider a Musicman Sterling too. There's a very pretty one on sale in the Bass Marketplace section at the moment - I am in no way affiliated with the seller, by the way.
