  1. Not really any costs involved. I have my own studio at home and do all the mixing and mastering. But I have no idea how to get the music "out there" which I think is pretty common due to the absolute over saturation of the market. I really can't do the social media thing any more.
  2. No. Only one track so far a couple of years ago but the band has just got back together after a couple of years of "life" and we want to get back in the studio again to record some of our originals. Not really bothered about making money to be fair but it would be nice to at least cover costs.. I think CDBaby and Distrokid are pretty much the same animal and it's always an option but I'd rather do something more independently for the time being.
  3. I tried the whole Distrokid, streaming services route a couple of years ago and although it's not really about the money, the chance of even covering subscription costs is pretty slim considering you need thousands of streams just to make a couple of quid. So where do people put their original music these days? Is Bandcamp still a thing and worth doing, or are there any better options now?
  4. I feel that the thread title will skew the results somewhat. If you don't play fretless you're far less likely to click on the thread in the first place.
  5. I think he said "Turn the f@#king stage!" As he obviously couldn't leave on his own and once the rest of the band went off he was kind of just left sitting there.
  6. I think that's true of all great bands of that era. At least the ones who didn't die in excess. Social media is largely responsible for taking away the mistique of many bands, actors and celebrities. Much of the time not for the better.
  7. Great to Steve Tyler doing his thing again. One of the greatest rock vocalists of all time for me.
  8. Half way thought and I'm loving it so far. I've never really been a fan of Yungblud but his cover of "Changes" was phenomenal. Gorija were there worst act so far for me but then again it's not really my thing. Looking forward to all the big guns coming on in the next few hours.
  9. Cheers I'll give that a go. Haven't listened to them in years.
  10. Yup. I don't know how they get away with that. Surely it's not legal.
  11. I think they're currently saying you get it for 2 days which is pretty poor to be honest. It starts at 5pm my time though, just as I finish work so I'm planning on grabbing a few beers and making a night of it.
  12. Must be regional pricing then. For me it's only 25 leva which is just over a tenner. Plus it's all going to charity instead of into Sharon Osborne's pocket which can only be a good thing.
  13. I suppose it would be possible to do some kind of screen recording but I'm not bothered. I'm thinking of it more as a live event at home. No way I could ever afford tickets or even get there if I could, so I'll be up in my barn with it on the big cinema screen. I'm also pretty happy that all the proceeds are going to charity so for once I actually don't mind paying for it.
  14. I haven't paid for a live stream event since the disappointment of the Tyson v Hollyfield fight back in 1997 but I'm definitely doing this one. Some of my favourite bands and artists of all time are in the line up. I don't know if it's regional pricing but the stream ticket is only the equivalent of about a tenner so pretty fair really. Really looking forward to this one. Is anybody else planning on streaming it?
  15. Ah thanks. That makes sense. I've never had an expensive enough bass to need one. 😆
  16. I do like the red trim on the T version though. Almost tempted to get one as a spare just for that. 😁
  17. I've been using the MOSFET version for about 5 years now as my main amp and it's absolutely outstanding! The tone is amazing and more power than you will ever need. Absolutely unbeatable even at twice the price.
  18. "The seller is a liar and a crackhead....." That's enough information for me right there.
  19. Stevie Nicks was pretty damn good too. 🤘
  20. Just watched the Fire Aid benefit concert and I have to say I really enjoyed it. While it might seem slightly harder to feel sorry for millionaire actors and musicians as opposed to starving people in Africa. We have to remember that so many have lost everything in the California fires. All that aside. Probably one of the best "live" (as in recorded live) concerts I've seen in years. The stand out moments for me were Alanis Morisette and No Doubt. Well worth a watch.
  21. Yeah I've seen the Redsubs and I'm not particularly keen. I've had gear4music stuff before and the HB stuff is generally much better quality. I've seen several Red Subs on eBay with busted headstocks.
  22. Not sure of this has already been mentioned but I couldn't find anything in the search feature. Harley Benton have finally released a multi scale bass. Given their reputation of quality at price I'm seriously tempted to dip my toe in the multi scale waters. Anybody got their hands on one yet? https://www.thomann.de/intl/harley_benton_msb_5_esp.htm?i11l=en_GB%3ABG.GBP%3AEUR
  23. Maybe not. But getting together every week to play purely for the enjoyment of doing so certainly does.
  24. I'm in a band made up of two married couples. Both the girls are amazing singers and neither have any ego whatsoever. It works wonderfully.
  25. None of my band is replaceable. Not because any of us are particularly good musicians, but because the band consists of two married couples. If one goes, then the other goes and there is no more band.
