  1. If it's just in the centre of the neck that would suggest it needs a truss rod adjustment. Although I'm my (granted somewhat limited) experience, getting the action right almost always requires a combination of the two.
  2. I wouldn't have a clue who uses Rotosound. Did I win?
  3. Now that's getting a bit extreme. I think if that were me, the room I'd be playing in is my living room at home.
  4. Yeah this was an equally low key affair. Not exactly Glastonbury but a great chilled out atmosphere.
  5. Andy, just from seeing your posts on here, and the knowledge you possess, I can absolutely guarantee you won't fck it up. But I think you have hit the nail on the head with regards to a lack of belief in yourself. I think maybe that's my problem too. Even though logically you know you can do it.
  6. Yeah it's always good to get things off your chest and if nothing else, just have a good old moan. It also helps to know you're not totally an alien species and others often have the same issues.
  7. Well for the first time I actually really enjoyed playing last night. It was our first ever festival. Only a small affair, and the sound guy was useless. But the band were really tight and the crowd were great. Whether this was a light at the end of the tunnel, or just a one off remains to be seen, but fingers crossed.
  8. Oh and I almost forgot. We got a booking for another festival off the back of our performance. So we can't have been too bad. 😁
  9. Well I can honestly say, after the self induced stress of getting set up through someone else's sound system, I thoroughly enjoyed that. The evening didn't go 100% according to plan. We were supposed to be the first band on at 7 o'clock. But due I think in part to the heat, there was absolutely no one there when we were due to play. So the organiser did a bit of a warm up set and we ended up going on about 9 o'clock once most of the crowd, and the other bands had arrived. We did an hour set, and although far from perfect, (mainly because the sound man didn't seem to know what he was doing) the band played a blinder and we went down really well. So much so that the drummer from the band that was supposed to follow us on broke his ankle dancing to our set. Oops!
  10. Exactly this. Just done a small festival this evening. One hour set and I bet I spent less than 2 minutes on the actual stage. Rest of the time I was out front with the crowd.
  11. It's got almost 6 full days to run on the auction. No guarantee it'll go for peanuts. Most of the bidding is done in the last 6 seconds.
  12. 32 degrees forecast here at 7pm this evening when we go on. It's gonna get a tad warm up there. 😰
  13. Not musical, but I look like the b@stard love child of Peter Kay and Matt Lucas. I used to work the doors and never got into a fight because people would be too amused that Max from Phoenix Nights was on the door.
  14. I worry about things more the other way around. I could almost guarantee if I touched someone else's gear I would somehow manage to damage or break it and end up being financially liable for something far more expensive than my own gear. Nope, I'll stick to my own battered cabs and budget amp thank you kindly.
  15. Well the day has arrived. Probably sooner than I would like if I'm honest. But after forming just a few months ago, and having only ever done half a dozen low key, barbecue and local bar type gigs, today we're playing our first music festival. I just hope the nerves don't get to me too much. Wish me luck, I'm going in!
  16. I do love to see the Soviet stuff come up. But this one's nowhere near mad looking enough. It looks almost ..... Well..... Playable.
  17. Please, please, please, someone stop this man. I know guitars are, at the end of the day, inanimate objects. But he should still be done for cruelty.
  18. I'd buy that tomorrow in a heartbeat if I was in the UK. Even if it meant traveling half way across the country to pick it up. I (now) live in Bulgaria and the price of second hand gear here is ridiculous! I often look at stuff on eBay and and on the for sale thread on here with my head in my hands. I can't believe the price some of the stuff goes for now. It's cheaper than when I first started playing 30v years ago.
  19. I had one of these many moons ago. It's worth that if you only use it as a tuner. 👌
  20. I do that kind of thing all the time. Sometimes you're too close to the problem and tend to overthink. Taking a step back or a new perspective usually does the trick. 👍
  21. Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best. 😉
  22. Can you not alter it by opening / closing the lever so it sits in a different place?
