  1. Turn it over and bang it from behind. We are still talking about the grill, right?
  2. Why? Just............. Why? No criticism of the seller, I just can't understand why Gibson would build it or anyone would buy it. No accounting for personal taste of course.
  3. Yup. Drunk me bought sober me a Squier Jag one night after a few too many vodkas. The weird thing is, sober me can't stand Fender / Squier basses. I just think the headstocks are so bloody ugly. It's true what they say about "beer goggles". Although to be fair the thing sounds superb and the build quality is ridiculously good for a "cheap" bass. So I kept it as a back up / practice bass. I also once did the cheeky bid, no chance of winning, thing on eBay and ended up with a full Laney stack. 😂
  4. Somebody got a bargain! I'd have a Vintage any day. They're ridiculously good for the money.
  5. "Custom refinements" That reminds me. My dogs dropped a load of refinements on my lawn last night. Must go and clear that up.
  6. How did I know it was one of his before even looking at the seller?
  7. Very hot pickups on those. Always have the controls set just above hearth. (Sorry, I'll get my coat)
  8. I've also seen many of Constantine's videos. No nonsense, solid as a rock playing. Superb!
  9. Exactly! I watched it once for about 5 minutes after a mate of mine told me how hilarious it was. What a load of utter tosh. A TV show not worth watching, full of wannabe realty TV "stars" hamming it up whilst watching TV shows not worth watching. I really do despair of the mentality of a world that considers that entertainment. Then again, I stopped watching television when TOWIE became a thing. Talk about the dumbing down of society.
  10. If The Killers were actual killers, and Liam Gallagher was one of their victims. That would be awesome! I'd pay the ticket price just to see that.
  11. Weird. I have the bass boost and treble boost active on mine all the time. I have the -15db button off, with an active bass (Seymore Duncan pups and preamp) and use the built in compressor and never get any clipping. But it sounds amazing. Punchy as hell and more volume than I'll ever need to keep up with a 3 guitar (+ bucket basher and singist) band. I've never noticed any kind of noise coming from it either, but then I tend to set it up and leave it alone. If I need to adjust the volume or anything on the fly I do it on the bass rather than the amp. So maybe it's just something I haven't encountered.
  12. Yup. Still using mine and still Absolutely blown away with how good it is. We've recently done a couple of outdoor gigs and I still didn't get the volume over half way. I was actually complemented at the weekend how good the bass sounded at an outdoor gig. They're absolutely superb.
  13. The guy from Stone Temple Pilots fronting Velvet Revolver. He had absolutely no business being there and they were a mediocre band because of it. They should have gone with Sebastian Bach.
  14. Yeah I think "singer" was pushing the description a bit. Even his own brother can't stand him.
  15. Mate I've been there. Sold all my gear a few years back to keep my car on the road so I could get to work. It sucks!
  16. Liam Gallagher in every band he's ever been in.
  17. That's an insane price? Even well worth traveling out of your way for. Will someone please bloody buy this! If I was in the UK of be all over it!
  18. Well "Doom/Sludge" is a genre I've never heard of before, but I like it!
  19. Hi all. The band I'm in wants to raise money for charity in lieu of being payed for gigs. We have a specific charity in mind that is both on Justgiving and Virgin Moneygiving. What I'm trying to do is link to the charity via our Facebook page, website etc so that people can donate to charity via the band, in the band name and I can't see a way to do it. I can set up a specific event with date, time etc so that's ok for a gig, but what I'm trying to set up is a way of it being a permanently active link that people can donate to via us so we can keep track of what we've raised. Does anyone know of any way to accomplish this. Thanks EDIT Never mind. I've figured out out. Mods can delete the thread if you want. Cheers.
  20. Good God there's a load of miserable old sods on here. Thank goodness, I thought it was just me. No desire to go to a festival ever. It's my idea of hell. I quite like the small, village type festivals but anything that's larger than a football field or village park I'm not interested, and even then I'd only do it in fair weather.
