  1. Excellent! We'll start with the first one this Friday. 😁
  2. Thankfully over here in the sunny side of Europe we get Thomann delivery via UPS. Never had a single problem either with delivery or returns, and I buy pretty much all my gear from Thomann.
  3. I find myself listening to less and less music these days, and when I do, I find I just fall back on all the same old stuff. So here's my idea. If anyone's interested. I'm going to start an "Album of the Week Club". This would work on the same basis as a book club. Every week (let's say Friday) I will use an app to choose an album totally at random from any genre or period of time. Then I'll spend the week listening to the album and giving my thoughts. I'm hoping to do this with as open a mind as possible as there are many genres that my natural reflex is to dislike, so I'm hoping to broaden my horizons and listen to things that I wouldn't ordinarily be interested in. Of course there's also the chance that the generator could choose one of my favourite albums. That's the luck of the draw. So, anyone else stuck in a musical rut and fancy joining me on this little social experiment? The rules. I'll be using a random album generator app called Shfl (shuffle) to choose the album. I will then check to see if the album is available to stream for free on Bandcamp and provide a link. The first album selected each week (with a steaming link) will be the album I listen to for the following week, regardless of genre or personal taste. Until the following week when another album will be selected.
  4. Thanks. I'll have a look. Edit. I really like the look of that as is tailored much more towards edrums. I've just signed up to the monthly trial of Drumeo. I think I'll try this along side and see which I find the most useful. Cheers.
  5. Ok I've just signed up for the 30 day free trial on Drumeo. My wife's a singer so she can hopefully get some use out of Singeo making it worthwhile keeping the sub. I might even be brave and post a couple of progress videos. πŸ˜†
  6. I've just noticed that the Drumeo sub also gives you access to Singeo, Guitareo and Pianote. Definitely makes it worth the sub.
  7. I think there's a 30 day free trial. Probably worth at least doing that and seeing if it's going to be useful enough to carry on. πŸ˜‰
  8. Yeah Drumeo looks really good but it's a bit pricey with the monthly sub. I'm ideally looking for something more akin to the TalkingBass model, where you buy the course then you own it for life and can do it in your own time.
  9. Good advice. Thanks Doug. πŸ‘
  10. I bought a fairly decent electronic drum kit a couple of years ago for a recording project that never really got off the ground. Nothing much happening with my bass playing at the moment and I've always fancied my chances on the drums and can just about hold a very basic beat. The problem is I need a structured approach and although there's lots of good resources on YouTube etc it's all a bit scattergun. Does anyone have any recommendations for any structured online drumming courses? I've found one on Udemy that seems to be decently rated. But just wondering if anyone has any first hand experience. Unfortunately in person lessons are a no go for several reasons. Cheers.
  11. Unfortunately hidden behind a paywall.
  12. I actually really like the look of that. Although I have no desire to take on a "project".
  13. Is it the one that goes, plinky plinky plonk twang?
  14. I've never owned one of their basses. But I had one of their Les Paul style guitars and it was absolutely superb!
  15. I'd never actually seen the Led Zep Live Aid performance until yesterday after this thread piqued my curiosity. Yup. It's bad!
  16. Hardly worth looking into the technical details on such a budget instrument. πŸ˜‰
  17. A bit of both. In marketing bigger always sounds better. But as I understand it, there's no industry standard way of measuring power. Even RMS calculations vary across manufacturers.
  18. Calling our resident expert @Bill Fitzmaurice
  19. Can you print me a Rickenbacker? πŸ˜‚
  20. Wow! I don't know which is worse. The looks or the price.
  21. If all else fails there are at least three Cash Converters (pawn shops) in Leeds. I can guarantee they will all have a bass or two of some sort. You could buy one from there and sell it back to them the next day. You might lose a few quid but would probably work out about the same as renting one. They may even be able to arrange some kind of rental agreement for 24 hours.
  22. Overrated - gigging Underrated - staying home relaxing with your feet up watching the telly.
  23. 11000 Watts and the sliders don't get past number 1. That's some headroom. πŸ˜‚
