  1. They also fit perfectly into a laptop bag along with the cables for a fraction of the price if you don't need bullet proof protection. Good enough for throwing in the back of the car. 😉
  2. I almost posted this video myself a couple of days ago, but then I went to the bar and forgot about it. 😆 I enjoyed the build, and it looked and sounded pretty decent when it was finished.
  3. £350 starting bid. Means nothing with 4 days to go as most of the bidding is generally done in the last 5 seconds.
  4. Spotted this today which could be the perfect solution for me. Basically an XLR adapter with phantom power that plugs straight into a phone, tablet, laptop etc. So I can record with my phone, which has excellent video quality, but use a good quality mic to pick up the audio. Might be worth a punt at under £40. https://www.thomann.de/intl/tc_helicon_go_vocal.htm?i11l=en_GB%3ABG.GBP%3AEUR
  5. I was given this for Christmas by the in laws. I can kind of see where they were coming from, but I wouldn't dream of wearing it in public. It makes me look like an Oasis fan (can't stand them) or a cheap extra from Kevin and Perry. I might wear it in the pool in summer to keep the sun off, but on stage I'm happy to embrace the bald. I've been shaving my head since I was 25, so it's much more a part of my look than any hat. I'm strictly a beany when it's cold man.
  6. It's so small I can't see it. (Why do I get the feeling I've said that before somewhere?)
  7. I love it when that happens. I walked into practice a couple of weeks ago and said "I've got this bass riff going through my head. It's kind of surf rock meets The B52's". Then started playing the riff. The rest of the band joint in, including the singer with some ad-lib lyrics and it was exactly what I had in my head. I'm still constantly amazed by being able to create music with other people.
  8. It's not about the sound so much as the feel and longevity. A real set of Elixirs will last 5 times longer than uncoated strings and your fingers will thank you for it.
  9. I've been using the Harley Benton Airborne pro for about 2 years now for every gig and practice and it's worked flawlessly. Can't go wrong at the price. Also has the additional benefit of a built in tuner to save space on the pedal board. It actually works better than the tuner on my zoom B3. https://www.thomann.de/intl/harley_benton_airborne_pro_5.8ghz_instrument.htm?i11l=en_GB%3ABG.GBP%3AEUR
  10. To be honest. The first part of the scale sounds far more appealing. Might go a bit mad and put pineapple on. That's enough adventure for me.
  11. Not unless I'm posting them publicly. I always upload them privately to YouTube first so I can watch / listen to them on the telly with a decent sound system.
  12. That looks great. If only they'd given it WiFi connectivity it would be perfect. Having to mess about plugging into a computer and transferring files before being able to upload is a deal breaker for me. Looks like I'll be continuing to use my phone for now.
  13. I have an Eko acoustic guitar with bolt on neck. It's a lovely bit of wood. I never thought about modifying it into an acoustic bass. Might have to look into it.
  14. Following with interest. I wouldn't mind having a crack at this with one of the Harley Benton Rick "tributes".
  15. Ours does. Unfortunately it's my wife so I still get to carry it.
  16. Oh the irony. If you don't like my post. Just move along. And you're wrong about me being wrong. Opinions are never wrong. They're just opinions. To you (and probably many others) Jaco might be the best bass player on earth. To me it just sounds like a load of utterly pretentious noodly crap.
  17. Following. I've often wondered the same thing and considered buying one.
