  1. I'm going to ask the band if they fancy playing (in the studio) Nye afternoon just for the fun of it. We don't go out on new years anyway. Haven't for years, and the band is very much part of our social lives. So maybe just a few mates round if any of them want to attend. I might even do a live broadcast on YouTube just for the hell of it.
  2. I'm intrigued. Why does anyone need set list software? What does it do? I've always just written the set list down on a bit of paper and stuck it somewhere I can see it.
  3. That's a shame. Definitely sounds like you got a lemon. I've had mine 3 years and it's been absolutely faultless.
  4. Are you sure you didn't knock the mute button?
  5. Buying from a shop is pretty much impossible for me. The closest decent one is about three and a half hours drive away. Even then, the stock is limited. I mostly buy basses mail order (usually Thomann) based on looks, price and reviews. Then just simply adapt my playing to the feel of the new instrument. I've never yet had a bass that I've felt the need to return because it's too uncomfortable to play. They're all pretty much of a muchness as long as you're adaptable. 4, 5, or 6 string. It doesn't really make any difference as long as you're willing to spend some time getting used to it.
  6. My wife's the singer in my band. She's far too exhausted from lugging the PA around for such shenanigans. 😂
  7. Well I had a bank card posted by next day registered about 10 days ago and it hasn't even showed up on the tracking yet. So it looks like things are going swimmingly. 🙄
  8. I'm exactly the same. I often see basses around the £300 mark that I would really like to buy, but simply can't justify the outlay.
  9. Interesting looking bass this. I haven't seen one of these before.
  10. I personally wouldn't spend more than about £350 on a bass. Neither my level of playing nor frequency of gigging would warrant it. There are some perfectly good bases around for that money, and anything over that is just a cascade of diminishing returns (i.e ten times the price wouldn't get you ten times the bass) I also just wouldn't feel comfortable taking a really expensive instrument to gigs. I've never understood the logic of people who have a 3 grand bass in the house and a £150 Harley Benton for gigs. Just give me the Harley Benton in the first place and I'm happy. Now amps / cabs on the other hand I'd be willing to put a little more into. But that's only because a good power to weight ratio doesn't come cheap. If my back wasn't so knackered I'd happily pick up and gig one of the cheap Trace rigs that come up fairly often and go for peanuts.
  11. I'll see your geographical distance and raise you 2000 miles plus Brexit tax. 😆 Lovely looking bass this.
  12. If you're looking for light then Harley Benton probably isn't the way to go. They're superb. But they're almost always on the heavier side.
  13. I have a 4 string Traben (Neo Ltd) and it's an absolutely stonking bass. Someone will be very happy with this.
  14. I can honestly say, that's the first Thunderbird style bass I've ever seen that I like the look of. Very nice!
  15. Yeah that would be a killer rig for next to nothing. I could only dream of something like that when I was starting out.
  16. Agreed. Much nicer looking too. I'm mortified when bargains like this come up in the UK and I have no (practical) access to buying them. Then again, it's probably a good thing. Otherwise I'd have a garage full of 40kg Trace Elliott cabs by now. 😆
  17. Just bought a Rockboard off Paul @Shepster8316. Fast response. Posted immediately. Delivered next day. Highly recommended.
  18. I have the HH double humbucker version and it's ridiculously good.
  19. Yup. That's the tube version which seem to be going for silly money now. Maybe that's just a reflection of how good they are.
  20. Yup. An absolute steal at this price. I'd already have bought it if I was in the UK and didn't have to pay international shipping and Brexit tax.
  21. Just gorgeous! Unfortunately well our of my price range. If only!
  22. Yes indeed. Tonica bass made in Russia. Someone on here bought one a while ago for a deco piece. I can't remember who it was now.
  23. I use mine with the low and high button permanently on and it sounds amazing. It's punchy as hell.
