  1. Ah, that kind of lefty. I thought it was going to be another Morrissey diatribe.
  2. Great bit of kit these for that proper 80's rock / metal sound. I had one back in the day and sold it for peanuts when I realised I was never going to bea guitarist. You live and learn.
  3. A grand for a Squier? That's a bargain I can live without. 😆
  4. Yup. As above, it looks like a police siren on a pole to me, so I'm guessing it's part of the lighting for one or more of the songs.
  5. Why does crack converters seem to me like the perfect place to sell his "instruments"?
  6. Just had this pop up on my Facebook feed. The PJ Sunburst looks absolutely stonking in this picture. I generally don't particularly like sunburst, but because it's a wash over the grain rather than a glossy finish, I think it looks superb!
  7. Yeah. I've seen loads of them on eBay with broken headstocks. I'd say the quality control is somewhat lacking.
  8. Ah I see. Or rather i don't. I've never seen that, but I don't come to this section via the menus. I just follow the unread comments / threads. So it jumps directly to the posts.
  9. Yup. I'm waiting for HB to come up with an affordable multiscale six string. Don't think I'll be holding my breath though.
  10. I suppose technically I own 3 basses. A semi acoustic 4 string, an electric 4 string, and a six string. I haven't picked either of the other two up since buying the sixer 2 years ago. So I only have one bass I actually use.
  11. I wasn't describing anything played by anyone. The bass has very little to do with how any talented musician plays. Give any of those people a cheap Harley Benton and they'll still sound amazing. Only my opinion of the way P basses look
  12. It wasn't all a happy ending then. 😆
  13. It says listing removed. So I'm not sure if it's sold, or it's been reported and removed by eBay.
  14. More to the point, how do you not check all this before it's time to actually play??? 😕
  15. I doubt it. This is a five year old add and the seller hasn't visited the site for the past 3 years.
  16. The whole tone thing is absolutely pointless subjective nonsense in my opinion. Bass is bass. I played an outdoor gig (mini Festival in a large garden) last weekend, no FOH, just amps and cabs. My two 1x12 Ashdowns were right on the limit, so I cracked up the mids to get more perceived 'volume'. I usually have a much milder, deeper tone, so to my ear the whole gig sounded like a horrible scratchy mess. Afterwards, I had several people approach me, including the bass players from the other two bands, saying how great the bass sounded. We recorded the gig, and even listening back it sounds awful to me. So by all means, spend a fortune chasing "that sound". If it makes you happy and gives you more confidence as a player, then there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. But just know that the rest of the world probably either couldn't care less, or has a totally different perception of tone than you do.
  17. Might get it for £50 if you throw in a pot of mushy peas.
  18. I suspect people were taking the proverbial. If that's a genuine bid and someone pays up I'll eat my hat. I fully expect to see it re-listed in a few days time.
  19. I've never found it a problem jumping back and forth with either scale or number of strings. But I've never played fretless. I suspect that that would well and truly stump me.
  20. The hardware looks to be Wilkinson. Absolutely bullet proof and no need to upgrade.
