  1. Sad but true, and just shows how utterly ridiculous such laws are when applied without common sense. Maybe I should file a lawsuit because, as a male I wasn't allowed to join the Spice Girls. I look better in a Union Jack mini dress than Gerry, and I have a better singing voice. It's pure discrimination I tell ya!
  2. Mysogeny! Report then to the police and have them sent directly to jail! Seriously. Assuming that they mean they don't want any women in the band, as opposed to they're are no women in the band then that's fine. It's their band. They can do what they want. File it under unsuitable and move on.
  3. Yup. I had the same earlier. I deleted all my attachments for the last 3 years since I joined the forum and then it let me post another image. Some strange stuff going on with the forum today.
  4. Yup. I've been having the same problem. Post something and the wheel just keeps turning for an age. I think the Hamster is on its last legs. Manually refreshing the feed seems to do the trick.
  5. I'd love a couple of these for a lightweight gigging rig. I've heard nothing but good things about PJB. GLTS.
  6. Mixing is even worse. 2 hours listening to a track and I can't tell the difference between a flute and roadworks.
  7. These are superb! Don't be put off by the badge, they're as good as anything or there at three times the price. This is my go to amp. Small, light, powerful as hell, and very versatile tone wise. I've had mine for over 3 years and uses it for regular practice and gigging without a hitch. If you're not sure about these, or you just want a great, small footprint backup amp, just buy it! I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Shame it's not the tube version or I'd have it myself just to complete the set.
  8. You'd be better served posting in the Wanted section.
  9. I wouldn't even go 150 miles for a holiday.
  10. I agree, to a degree. I must admit I like to be on the low side in the mix. But it very much depends on the band and style of music. In a 3 piece rock band for example, the bass is as much as integral part of the overall sound as anything else. Arguably in disco / mowtown / R&B etc, even more so.
  11. I've just seen that you can now live stream a gig directly through Bandcamp. Looks like you can choose your own ticket price, and even sell merch at the same time. I'm just in the process of setting up my rehearsal room for live streaming, although currently not set up on bandcamp. Could be interesting. Anybody on it? If the mods allow, maybe we could post links to upcoming Bandcamp gigs on here?
  12. Yeah, me too. I suppose it comes with lots of experience. Far more than I have. I'm the same when people start talking about low and high mids and frequency ranges etc. No idea. Half the time I can't even hear the difference.
  13. Absolutely nowt wrong with that either. πŸ˜‰
  14. I'm exactly the same. Although my response is the total opposite of many of the comments so far. I just can't see the point in having multiple basses. At least, not at my level of playing. I get it if you're a professional musician playing with several bands or recording and you need a certain sound for a certain occasion. But for a weekend warrior band it all just seems a bit silly to me. I found a bass I like, I play that one. I actually do own three, but one is a cheap semi acoustic I bought decades ago which is pretty much just wall art, then I own a 4 and a 6 string. I exclusively play the sixer, the 4 string is just gathering dust. I only keep it in case I ever want to revert. Despite endless discussions of gear and the every elusive "tone", which is nothing but subjective anyway, in a live band mix a bass just sounds like a bass and 99.9 percent of people wouldn't know, or even care about the difference. May as well just find one you like playing and stick with it as far as I'm concerned.
  15. Surrounded by well trimmed shrubbery I hear.
  16. Take the Jack socket out, bend the pins in. 2 screws, 30 second and job done. Better than waiting days, or even weeks for a new bass that might have the same problem.
  17. I get Tidal free with my mobile phone contract and it's brilliant! Plus they pay substantially more to the artists than Plopify.
  18. It was the late 80's and I was in my early teens. Everybody wore a shell suit.
  19. I tried it once in she'll suit bottoms which instantly melted to both my knees. πŸ˜†
  20. I've never heard it in my life and have absolutely no idea what it means. πŸ˜†
  21. I have the upmost respect for anyone who does dep gigs. I couldn't do it if my life depended on it. I can barely remember our own original songs.
  22. I'd want danger money to even play that. πŸ˜†
