  1. Hi. Any idea what the weight is on this. I've trawled the internet and the only thing I can find said 16lbs! That can't be right. My current ESP 6er is 12lbs and that's an absolute brute! I'm desperately trying to find a reason not to buy this. (Actually I'm trying to find a way to make it possible and get it here)
  2. I've been wireless for a couple of years now. I always take spare cables just in case. But barring any technical difficulties, I'd never play "plugged in" again.
  3. Wow! I know we live in a very different world today. But how did they ever think that was a good idea, let alone get away with it?
  4. Following. I've got a few patches set in mine but it's mostly experimental at this point. It usually goes something like. Compressor Effect (chorus / octave etc ) Amp SIM without cab Noise gate or reverb
  5. Have you tried turning up the mids? Yes. Have you tried turning up the volume? Yes. Have you tried turning up with a lump hammer and smashing up the guitarists ridiculously loud cab?
  6. Do you mean your two cabs have a total of 4ohms? (i.e 8 ohms each) or that you are using 2 X 4ohm cabs? If it's the latter, then that's why it's overheating. The minimum load of the amp is 4 ohms and running 2x4ohm cabs gives you a load of 2ohms.
  7. It's been mentioned a few times in the "what's good on Netflix / prime etc" thread. Interesting listening to Paul tell the story of how the songs came to be. Given his career, and the sheer amount of music he must have created spanning decades, the man's memory amazes me.
  8. Nobody died, but given the amount of stuff I've seen Andy shift in the relatively short time I've been here, the financial costs must at least be in the same ballpark as the Tet Offensive. 😆
  9. I have no idea what a Kemper power rack is. I have no idea how to use one. But I now want one!
  10. Yeah they were great. I used to trade stuff in and they'd often give me more back than I paid them for it in the first place. With hindsight, probably no wonder they went out of business. 😆 Great shop though. Shame they went under. I used to spend hours in there in my teens.
  11. Filling it full of Trace watts would totally negate the point of a lightweight cab. They're all fat and heavy. 😆
  12. Yes. Bulgaria. But before that I lived in Lincolnshire for 15 years, which is even more the derrière end of nowhere. The last time I went in a well stocked music shop was Electro Music in Doncaster about 20 years ago and bought a lovely Warwick. Sadly the shop and the Warwick are now both gone.
  13. I didn't even know they're were still shops that sold basses. I have to rely on looks, price, and reviews, order what I want, and live with it. I haven't been in a real life music shop for 20 years.
  14. Always a possibility. Although a minutely small one. If someone steals your ID, guess what stops them using it online? Yup, you guessed it. KYC checks. Unless you're going to live your whole life offline, only spend cash, stash money under your mattress, and never buy things or book things on the net. Then it's a risk you have to take. I don't like doing the checks any more than anybody else. But it's the way of the world. If you want to do any kind of business online, then there's absolutely no point moaning about it. Just get it done.
  15. No it's really not. They're not refusing to release your money. They're asking you to prove that you are who you say you are before they release the money. That's a massive difference. It's absolutely standard practice, and in fact, the law, which companies have to abide by. I've done it hundreds of times without a single issue. I've even been asked by some companies to send a "selfie" holding my passport up next to my face to prove that I am the authorised passport holder, and but just trying to pull a scam with stolen I.D. I'd be far more worried if companies weren't making these checks. It's called a KYC (know your costumer). It's 100% legit and totally standard practice. Plenty of information online. https://bis.lexisnexis.co.uk/due-diligence-and-compliance/glossary/kyc-check
  16. Why? I mean, yeah I get it, it's for charity.... .... But,......... Why? To be honest I've never understood the whole world record thing. All you have to do is come up with something that nobody else wants to do, then do it for longer than nobody ever wanted to do it anyway. Then you break your own record by doing it for longer than only you ever wanted to do it in the first place. It all seems a bit odd to me.
  17. I suppose it depends if the potential singist has one. To be honest I'm a bit old school. My amp / cab has always been my output to the room, I've barely ever gone through a PA. The same with the guitarists I've played with. For small pub type bands I've always been of the opinion that the singest is responsible for the PA. The bass and guitar have their own amplification. The drums rarely need any. The PA is the singers amplification so it's their job to have it.
  18. Or Muzik Produktiv are still doing Ashdown cabs at absolutely stupid prices. https://www.musik-produktiv.com/gb/bass-cabinets/
  19. Those are lofty aspirations. I think you're going to have to be a bit more realistic.
  20. Wow. I'd be seriously tempted with this if it wasn't for the gift that keeps on giving.
  21. I never have a problem with our singer. She's my wife so I just tell her to shut up. Then she hits me until I do as I'm told and turn the monitor up.
