  1. My old band are out gigging from next week and are booked every weekend in March. But that's here in Bulgaria, which is a very different situation to the UK.
  2. The more I try to get into writing, composing and especially recording, the more I'm beggining to realise a working knowledge of keys would be a great benefit. Does anyone have any recommendations for online keys tutors that start at a very basic level? I'm talking almost to the point of sticking notes on the keys. Preferably something that doesn't involve music reading. Many thanks.
  3. It's not the size. It's what you do with it. Well mine's tiny and I've got no clue what I'm doing. 😆
  4. Can't possibly comment. Last time I said that people were more interested in the gear than the actual threads I was accused of trolling. 🙄
  5. I need to get some of those for my McBass.
  6. Because there's only a limited daily supply and @Teebs uses them all up
  7. At over 13 minutes it's way too long. They're heading into prog rock territory
  8. After looking closely at all the pictures, I'm happy to confirm its definitely a bass.
  9. Thanks for the replies. But it's old news now. I've been using the subs for weeks without issue.
  10. No that could never happen could it? Boris said everything would be fine. 🤔
  11. Yup. As we all know. Brexit was all Thomanns fault. It's also Thomanns fault that their buyers were totally unaware that they would be charged VAT and import costs after Brexit. Terrible company. I certainly won't be using them again. 🙄
  12. He has. It's one of the first things I ever saw of his.
  13. Shows how opinions vary. It's up there for me as one of the greatest covers of all time. The timbre of David Draimans voice is outstanding. The Simone and Carbuncle original on the other hand, does nothing for me whatsoever.
  14. Yeah I saw that too. I like blue, and the cream one as well, but I think I'd definitely plump for the natural.
  15. @stewblack You got one of these yet? Me likey! https://www.thomann.de/intl/harley_benton_enhanced_mp_5mn_natural.htm?i11l=en_GB%3ABG.GBP%3AEUR&o=121&search=1612700286
  16. I could have forward shipped it before brexit for a total cost of about £7. Now the VAT and handling alone would be over £40, and that's before the actual shipping costs. Not that there's anybody left to forward ship it with now anyway as they've all been forced out of business. ☹️
  17. Have to start buying everything in kit form.
  18. That would make sense, as fretting at the 12 fret would put the bass at the same octave as the open guitar string. So you're good to go.
  19. If it were tuned an octave too low it would be hanging off. I very much doubt you could even tune a bass string an octave too high. I always find the open G sounds very different to the fretted G. It's not a difference in pitch so much as in tone. The open G always sounds to me, for want of a better word "twangy".
  20. To be honest, I'd always be weary of buying from anyone who doesn't answer telephones or emails.
  21. It's like an obsession. There's far, far more interest in the gear forums than there is in any of the forums dealing with actual music, playing, or technique. Quite sad really.
  22. Wow. Small world 😆 I used to be on there a lot a few years ago before I sold the old bus and moved to Bulgaria. I'm sure we must have chatted several times on the other forum.
  23. I've never taken spare anything to a gig other than cables and extension leads.
