  1. I'm also a big fan of Mark at Talkingbass. Brilliant, easy to understand, straight forward, no messing about. None of the waffle and filler that a certain other online bass teacher specialises in. I'm currently doing the basic fundamentals course and highly recommend it for anyone need to learning basic music theory. I also have the advanced chord tones course purchased and ready to go.
  2. Elixrs all day long. Not as bright straight out of the packet, but consistent sounding for the life of the strings, which is about ten thousand years.
  3. Better make sure to get the machine heads nice and wonky then.
  4. This kind of reminds me of the nutters who go on The X Factor and shows of that ilk, who genuinely think they're talented. Probably because they've been egged on my so called "friends". When in actual fact they're utterly delusional. I get the feeling that the person who told him to take custom orders was taking the proverbial. "Tonight Simon, I'm going to be building a bass guitar".
  5. If it's a country and western singer from Indiana, why does it read like it was written by the prostitute from Full Metal Jacket, who "love you long time"?
  6. If it's a country and western singer from Indiana, why does it read like it was written by the prostitute from Apocalypse Now, who "love you long time"?
  7. I posted the same video a few months back. It genuinely has me in bits every time I see it.
  8. Hand crafted by blind Tibetan monks. Erm... Monkeys! I mean monkeys!
  9. We don't come in until the chorus on this one.
  10. An offcut of 3x2 stuck under the front.
  11. I think we all know the ebayer you're talking about. 😉
  12. My fist gig in about 30 years last year. Brand new band. We were asked to play at a charity launch at a local(ish) lodge. We were told that there would be anything from 200 to 500 people there from all over Europe for the charity launch. When we got there the owner had arranged bugger all and the only people there were brought by the band.
  13. Yup. Sounds petty much standard Elvis to me too.
  14. It won't compare. It's the green lights that give Trace rigs heft.
  15. Pretty much the same reason I quit my last band. 1 or 2 (unpaid) gigs a week, plus a practice day, for something that was supposed to be a hobby and a bit of a laugh. The two guitarists who were both financially independent after talking early retirement wanted to gig as much as possible, and couldn't understand why I didn't. 😕
  16. I don't follow the logic. I've never needed a gun to drive to the shop or cut up a steak. American's obsession with guns is beyond disturbing.
  17. Don't do it, it's a trap! Last time I went near a tin of corned beef I almost lost a finger and couldn't play for a fortnight!
  18. What's a rider?
  19. 1 to 3 month dispatch time. 😣
  20. I couldn't buy a Harley Benton using that plan.
  21. All I want to know is when do the zombies start to appear?
  22. I don't have a lot of experience with different amps, but I can honestly say this is the best sounding, and probably most powerful amp I've ever owned. It does everything I need it to do and then some. I can't see the point of ever getting another amp. If it broke i'd buy another. The only GAS I get with regards to amps is maybe buying the valve version of this to go alongside the mosfet.
  23. Very cool. I've been tempted to try this myself for a while.
