  1. I don't even know what 15/- means. But in that case, that particular weekend I would have been busy not yet existing.
  2. Yup. I did a lot of research a couple of years ago when we released our first single and came to the conclusion that Distro Kid was the best way to go. It's really easy to use, takes care of pretty much everything automatically. Doesn't take any commission, and it's really inexpensive. Do a Google search for Distro Kid code and you'll be able to find a discount to get it even cheaper for your first year.
  3. I wish I'd stuck at it when I first started learning to play at 15 instead of packing in for the next 25 years. I may have been proficient by now. I regret trading in my old Ibanez lawsuit era Rick for a guitar that I never really learned how to play. I think I got £50 for it trade in value. Closest thing you could get to a real Rick for under a grand now. I also regret selling my orange 4x10 cab and Marshall Guvnor distortion pedal for fifty quid because I needed to tax my car.
  4. What year was it? Unless I'm blind or daft (probably both) I can't see any mention of the year on the poster.
  5. Please do. It's genuinely been a life saver for some of us. It always helps to know that you're not alone and other people are in the same boat. I've found through this forum that the support of strangers can be a really powerful thing.
  6. In fairness the add does say to contact the OP if you're interested. So it would only take a quick message to find out if its something you're genuinely interested in.
  7. Ooh that's tasty! I love the red.
  8. The lead singer in my band really puts me in my place and constantly tells me I'm in the wrong. Mind you. It's probably my own fault for marrying her.
  9. I like to provide some eye candy for the ladies.
  10. I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, but given the comments so far, I'm not looking forward to it. 😂 Oh well. That's the luck of the draw.
  11. I've got some underpants with holes in. Not exclusively for gigging. I just live in poverty.
  12. Put a bit of soundproofing foam behind. Win win.
  13. Well it's that time of the week again. 🥁 Lageos - Actress London Contemporary Orchestra Definitely out of my comfort zone on this one. 😅 Bandcamp https://actress.bandcamp.com/album/lageos Spotify https://open.spotify.com/album/45jLFyHIZIXWB8cKlXUTn9 Tidal https://tidal.com/album/87045772 YouTube https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_naghAfGqxieztsyAM8MM9t_oIEhKPbN0o&si=ccvwywzWhLsScPZr
  14. Being in a band never does. 😂
  15. I was wondering the same as the add says that while you can work around it you have to commit to it as your primary job (or words to that effect) and there's about 65 gigs a year. They'd have to be really well paid gigs.
  16. How do you feel about meeting half way for a sale? I'm thinking maybe around Vienna. 😂
  17. Nice one. Sounds like you struck gold there. £30 an hour is a good price for face to face lessons. I was paying that to my so called teacher 15 years ago.
  18. Wow! I'd take your arm off at that price if I was in the UK.
  19. I have no doubt that some people can. Probably those who have years of experience playing through different rigs, or sound engineers who can pick up on the most subtle differences. I'm definitely not one of them. 😆
  20. I honestly don't know how anyone hears the difference. Bass is bass. Especially in a mix. I can't even tell the difference between different kinds of basses in a blind listen.
  21. Ok. Pedant Harry doffed in return. Watts are an electrical measurement where you multiply the current with the voltage to get the power consumed, i.e. watts. It is simply an indicator of power and cannot be used to describe how loud a speaker is actually going to be.
  22. Six year old post. I think he's probably figured out our by now. 😋
  23. Just had a first listen through of the Bjork album so here's my thoughts. Firstly. I had no idea that it was an acapella album. Second. I always thought I liked acapella music. Turns out I like acapella tracks, singular. The odd track here and there is very clever and a nice change. A whole album of it becomes tedious very quickly. Thirdly. I do really like Bjorks voice and quirky vocal style. So although this album isn't really for me. It does inspire me to seek out more of her stuff. Maybe some of her earlier stuff where I know one or two tracks on the album to dip my toe in. However. In the spirit of the thread. I will listen to the album again and see if I can pull some more positives from it.
