John Entwistle might say "Get yerself a big amp !"

I have had a few SVT cabinets and I know what you mean . My Ashdown ABM 610 seems to get that punch. Maybe an Ashdown Rootmaster 610 would be good- if you can move it.

That body shape is like my Jackson Kelly bass . John Entwistle might like it . I wish my Kelly sounded better...

My first bass was a '68 Jazz Bass. I traded it after a year for a Hofner. I could have kept it and bought the Hofner . If I had only seen a photo of Macca playing a Fender ... That Jazz was later painted white . It giged more than me with local bands.

There was a Squire Telecaster bass that used a Tele gtr body and a 32"scale neck. One had a single coil pickup and one had two pickups. It was cheap and I missed out.

If you had a line out with enough juice to drive a power amp, yes it might work. -
I had an early 70's fretless Precision and it had chrome pickup and bridge covers. I believe it did not have threaded bridge saddles. The dark blue Jazz is a lined neck Mexican and one fretless I can play on pitch (usually) . Those lines help.

I am interested in the short-scale Sire U5 . How does it sound compared to the Mustang ? My only complaint on the 'Stang is the switch crackles when switched . I don't expect an even blend from both pickups combined but it is different enough for some variety. The Sire looks good but it is around $200 cheaper than the Fender Mustang PJ. I have two Mustangs.

Ashdown have not gone down any at Sweetwater in the States . They are up from last year.

A power strip will do it .

My new Hohner Rocket Amp has a hole that won't play in the 'blow' note. I think I can't blow air through it.The reed seems free to move. How can I fix It ?I can take the covers off.

I have seen photos of loud bands stacking three 412 cabinets . However good it does sound how wobbly is it ? I would not want to be hit by a falling cabinet !

I saw him in Birmingham,AL when they started with "Francine". Plus two more times. Live, the bass was mixed louder and easier to understand. They were due to play this friday in Tuscaloosa, AL.

I have used the SM58 for years but wanted to try something new. I got a AKG D5 mic. It gets better upper midrange and higher treble. I have been recording with it at home - no gigs yet. I would like a mic that screws onto the stand like an old Shure I had.

The one pictured is an Indonesian Sterling Ray 5 . A USA version costs more than twice as much .

You won't regret a Sterling Ray 5 . I have a stripped down Jackson Concert 5 for a tame passive sound. I have a Warwick Corvette 5 for a "hot" biting tone. The Ray 5 can do both sounds. Mine is a nice piece of wood too.(can't find a picture) The Jackson did not sound very good with the stock pickups and preamp. It does balance well and stay in tune. The Warwick balances well on a strap and is even heavier than the Ray 5.

On a bass with a thin neck, a .100 set will not pull on the neck as much. The truss rod is supposed to offset this tension but a .100 set will pull around 40 lbs. less than a .105 set (according to a D'Addariro chart I saw ). My Mustang PJ came with .105 and I will stick to that, maybe stainless for more twang.

A Schecter Model T is like your Fender but has active e.q. and a PJ EMG set. A P with other sounds and they are only $700 in the States.
