  1. I would see the Stones in both Nashville and Atlanta . The Who ...
  2. I heard their finishes were trade secrets not to be revealed . They take a ding without flaking off paint (much). So Jetglo stays pure black without light -colored battle scars.
  3. My favorite electrics are SGs. These are 50s Tribute guitars with 24 frets, Grover machines, and no pickguard. P 90 pickups take me to Leeds (almost).
  4. I have a couple of 4003 basses and of course, one is flatter and one is rounder. The difference with a Precision or Jazz is they GET FAT at the 7th fret on up. I try to adapt and that is a knack the really clever players ( like Macca and Ox ) have .
  5. I just got a Guild 12 string that is all striped African mahogany. My older 12 has the bridge pulling up. I will get that one reglued soon.
  6. Isn't the regular Precision/Jazz/Strat head shape a Fender trademark ? No one can copy it exactly without threat of legal action. That straight line on the pickguard is from a Tele gtr and so is the metal control plate.
  7. I like the blue one because it is a little darker than Lake Placid blue .The Mexican Deluxe Precision will be more biting with the mid up .
  8. I like the three-band EQ on my regular Ray. Can you change the mids on this new bass?
  9. Didn't that bass have reverse-direction machines ? I played one with a big neck and tiny frets. It had a different tone than any Fender I have. Oh well, ...
  10. I have the Avatar version and it has been altered to be "bass guitar friendly ". I think it is a driver best suited for vocals because of the midrange. I threw in a Beta 10 Eminence with 5 Ashdown Bluelines and it is OK in a ABM 610 cabinet.
  11. The RM500 is my favorite . I want the RM800 when it is available.
  12. It has a high frequency horn , like an Ashdown ABM 810 . It is ported ? Celestions ?
  13. I have a yellow Melody Maker (not glossy). Your bass looks great ! What about a Thunderbird pickup right in the middle ?
  14. EV speakers have nice clean treble.
  15. The glow is most effective when the color changes as you play a good loud note. The blue is a beautiful vision indeed ! Not little tubes - I mean the big output tubes like my first amp , a 50w Bassman .All I had to do is turn out the house lights and stand behind the amp !
  16. She taught grammer school back in Canada . So she's got some book learnin' too ! If my school teachers looked like her and played bass I might recall their names ! " Miss Crow, may I go to the bathroom please ??? "
  17. My first Ashdown was a wide Mag 300. My Mag 600 also does not seem extra loud . I think you might need about 1/2 of the input meter and a 4ohm cabinet for more volume.
  18. My Precision Deluxe has a Jazz-width nut. (Mexican) Doesn't the American Performer have a regular Precision neck ?
  19. A SG will be more percussive than a LP and chords die out a lot quicker too.
  20. No Ashdown head looks bad, but a classy wooden sleeve beats a naked rack mount always !
  21. I already had a blue 'Stang so I got another one . I call it "Pinkie".
  22. Fender used a dye injected into a living tree to make the Wildwood colors. That is what a catalog said. Have you seen one ever ? They did make a pretty picture.
  23. Some fret buzz was something he could control better than most players. Notes were never choked out.
  24. I saw pictures of colored Rootmaster cabinets somewhere . Are they still made ? I would like the light blue or surf green color on some RM 410 cabinets.
  25. I have used D'Addario nickel roundwounds but I want to go back to steel roundwounds. I do fear for the frets but the Stingray has big frets.
