  1. That's a fair comment ^^ and one for which no supplier had any real control over during the pandemic. I have no gripes with any of the builders. Interactions with Mark at Limelight have always been great.
  2. G&l fretless basses are quite rare……….but available on s/h market from time to time.
  3. That’s one huge, helpful resource. Thank you!
  4. Great to hear you are back in the saddle. Go for it!!
  5. “To be honest”
  6. This ^^^^^ I also like TI flats once you get used to the tension (lack of it).
  7. Didn’t Fender make a 24 fret Jazz V a while back……..made in Korea? I have no idea what it was like, but I seem to recall it was a Fender-badged Cort. So, cheap, OK and a potential for upgrades?
  8. I think of all my fretless basses, those with ebony fingerboards give me the greatest playing satisfaction. I did have a Hohner “cricket bass” once with an unlined ebanol fingerboard. Actually, with nylon-coated tapewounds on it sounded quite OK. I was surprised. If I had a choice I would always go with ebony though.
  9. Not for me……… but each to their own.
  10. Frankly, I think these are all niche “one-person” type operations. Not sure that’s entirely true for Nash, but I’d think FCS don’t have any worries on that score.
  11. Lush. Stunning colour!
  12. This ^^^^^^^^ I’d personally rate Bravewood>> Nash>> Limelight. I’ve had examples of each…………and I’m not even a relic lover!
  13. Just keeps getting better!
  14. Loving it! What’s not to like?! Good score.
  15. I had the same thing happen to me with a bridge and vol/tone control grub screws. I think Mark has changed his process for producing relic’d hardware. So no longer an issue if you buy “new” from him. Pot-luck if a “second hand” Limelight though. Overall, I find Limelight instruments a good balance between price/quality.
  16. Another owner/user here. These are mega!
  17. You might have more interest in your post if it were placed in the “Wanted” section. Mods: suggest this post be transferred.
  18. I have adjusted the dual truss rods on Rickenbackers a few times. Unless the neck is twisted, I have tried always to do the same to each rod and gently turn each in sequence. With Ricks I normally try for a flat board with minimum relief, per factory recommendation. Not always possible though. Sounds like you may have to look at the frets, as you indicate.
  19. I think Macca uses felt picks rather than plastic, but he seems pretty good at it😁
  20. I liked my first M245 Custom so much, I’ve some how accumulated a few more Atelier Z’s. Gratuitous pic time:
  21. Fabulous………and a great back story! Enjoy!
  22. For me, it is like the “rubbing your tummy and patting your head trick”. It is tricky and I have a similar approach to @Lozz196. I simplify the bass line and concentrate on the vocals. I just about get away with backings and really admire those who can front lead vocal and play.
  23. Go for it! Top draw quality instruments.
  24. The Dimension is a recent example. Nice bass, but Fender fan-boys just didn’t see beyond the P or J looking glass!
