  1. Sting had one built by Hamer. Took him a while to get used to it, I recall.
  2. Didn't Stuart Zender fall out with JK?
  3. Those unfilled fret gaps will cause the fingerboard to bow up, no?
  4. Looks like a Washburn Bantam. Does Gibson still own the right to the old L Steiny design? If not, Ned really should start making them again. That would really sort of those Japanese collectors. EDIT: He'd have to make the blanks and the moulds again.
  5. So, I sold something else last week, and this one's not getting paid out until delivery confirmed. And it's not being updated by RM. Great.
  6. I sold something for <£100 and paid no listing fee for FVF.
  7. That's a beast of a neck! Dimarzio with coil tap, or?
  8. I think someone on here bought one - can't remember which one, probably the one with the owl on the cover - and left an Amazon review. I have to admire his gall at plugging them on his ebay sales.
  9. Clean electrics, neck good. Lovely nitro checking. Pix for those not on FB. EB-0
  10. 'Flats of the hexagon' - Great name for a band! Verbose, and shamelessly plugging his books on the auction page. MDP
  11. Good point. I never actually considered that. I've looked at both the Olly White one and the Seafoam Green one, and after a bit more studying, I've discovered I don't like those fingerboards. I know 'rosewood' covers many species but those 'boards look like Laurel. I don't think I've seen a rosewood so light on a Fender bass. I guess I could use some Monty's Wax to darken it but on a £2K reissue instrument I'd expect the 'board to look more period correct.
  12. Yeh, shame no Lollipops. These things are rare as hen's teeth. I got mine from a guy in Belfast around 8 years ago. Can you remember where yours went?
  13. So, I sold on ebay last week for the first time in years. The sale was less than £100. No listing fee and, oddly, no final value fee. What I didn't like, though, is that I don't get paid until the package is marked as 'delivered', and even then I was told payment could take two days. Bizarre. EDIT: Perhaps I read that wrong. The item is out for delivery in the buyers locality and the payout is now available.
  14. Yes, there is a white one. I had a MIJ non-export '66 d&b in black, with matching headstock. Unfortunately, it didn't come with lollipops. I do have a JB64 (stackpot retrofit) in CAR with matching headstock, but I've always wanted a d&b one again.
  15. I don't need another Jazz (said that already this week) but this is a dream. Why Fender never reissued this in CAR, a more period-correct colour, is beyond me, for they'd clean up! 66 Jazz
  16. I do not need another Jazz!! But that green one is a beauty!
  17. First time I've heard of that instrument.
  18. I'm also reminded of the Alden 'Beatbacker' Bass, which I owned for about an hour or so before requesting a return. The worst bass I ever had. Fret-sprout, rough finish, badly hacked scratchplate and noisy electrics.
  19. Indeed. I think Ebay did some analysis and had a spreadsheet session and came to the conclusion they were losing money compare to the pre-fee days.
  20. So, back to how it used to be? I haven't sold on ebay since they introduced the fees.
  21. Never seen these before. Pic for those not on FB
