  1. I could let the off with the bridge/tailpiece but why those controls? Why no 2+2 and a selector, like Epi did with the SGs?
  2. Yeh, A guitar carton arrived outside my door which looked like it had been booted.
  3. Post-COVID, all concern/responsibility for packages has been discarded by courier firms. Drivers are so overworked that they just take photos, leave at door, and bolt. I have had one particular delivery say it had been delivered twice, then apparently returned to depot. It was eventually delivered and left outside my door, without an update that it had been delivered!
  4. Very nice. What's that bridge? Is it a Fender?
  5. I got lost for a few minutes on that in 1986. I'd never seen anything like it.
  6. Not a bad price. There's a tobacco one on evilbay for double that.
  7. £2k max. All the basses I bought over the recent years were all circa £1600. It would have to be something special for me to hit the £2k mark.
  8. You need this thing, or something similar. I think the bassist in Disclosure uses one.
  9. Aye, and there's a reason for that. DMs work,
  10. Since I got it, I haven't gone under the hood yet but I'm pretty sure it doesn't have the cap on the rear pup, the tone-sucker. The neck is thinner than my (2nd Gen) V63, somewhat akin to my CS but with slightly square feeling to it, like a '74 I once had. All Hardware is RIC, inc pups.
  11. Yeh, it is a no-brainer. Ive been on the hunt for a Fireglo 4003S for some time to do a V63/RM1999 replica but I simply refuse to pay the money being asked for 2nd-hand Ricks so when this appeared I was on it like a tramp on chips. The Fireglo is actually darker than the main photo; this is more like it:-
  12. Given that I owned 7 of them (4001/4003), I'd have to disagree. The only one the came close to this (or vice versa) was the 4001CS I had.
  13. ...and his Yorkshire cousin.
  14. This is an immaculate, second-hand model. Hardware is all RIC. Yes, head to the Ric faker group on FB.
  15. Just back from collecting a bass in Newcastle. Popped into an old haunt of mine....
  16. See post above yours. For some reason, I am unable to insert media.
  17. Great gig but the worst get-in on the planet!
  18. The .0047 cap is on a pot! You lose the tone pot, though.
  19. '...suckin' sickly sausage wrolls'. Fog on the Tyne
