  1. I reluctantly went back on Fickbook a few weeks ago to sell a few basses as I had just bought an amp and needed to free up some cash on unused basses. One guy lowballed me so I decided to test him and provisionally accept his offer. He then plopped it, saying he thought I was in the same town as him. Huh? Also had two guys from Indonesia. I flat out refused shipping that far. EU is my limit. Had several of the 'I'll pay more than your asking price! Give me your address and I'll send courier with cash tomorrow!' scams. A quick FO silences them.
  2. Honorary mention for the Behringer Ultrabass, the rack model. Used it ok at home, setting up presets, and at rehearsals. First time I gig it, it cuts out intermittently in the first song and several times thereafter, necessitating me going through the PA. Sold the next week on ebay with its controller baord.
  3. Probably the first amp I ever had: a Sound City Slider. Bought by my dad as a Christmas present, he probably just went into a guitar shop and said 'My son's taken up guitar. I need a cheap amp for him to start on'. I blew it up in a matter of months. But the worst amp I have ever played through was a Trace Elliot Boxer combo. Rattled like a jakey with the DTs and sounded like a whale farting. That experience is closely seconded by a Maine head and paired 1 x 15" cab I once used at a rehearsal. All mid/low mid which gave me none of the 'sparkle' I needed back then.
  4. Most of the Greco stuff is top notch. Love the 'board on that P.
  5. I went hunting for Aja on the web to look at the musician line-up but noticed that the first entry was a Wiki entry which tagged the album as being 'Yacht Rock'! WTF??
  6. Both '91 Warwick Thumbs Steinberger XL2A 4001CS 1973 4001 Gone!!! Nowadays, both my Fender CS Jazzes and a Greco Ricky
  7. No, it's at my cousin's house. I'll see if I can get a photo of it,
  8. Aww, you let the cat out of the bag!!🤣🤣🤣
  9. Aww, you let the cat out of the bag!!🤣🤣🤣
  10. Well, for one, it was never a humbucker. Those pole pieces were for show only; the pickup itself was single coil. You have a niece? Can you call on her to get the bass? And why 'snap a picture'? Isn't the bass your bass??
  11. If you have the cover, what happened to the coil?
  12. Do you have any photos of this bass? I mean anywhere? Where did you buy it? What happened to it? A pick-up casing isn't much to go on.
  13. I've had that several times. Why it happens, I don't know. In my freelance days, I might be off for a few days in a row and was always around for the morning post. Packages, likes SD, usually come over in a van, I think. One day, heard the letterbox flap go. Got up to have a look and there's a card on mat. 'Sorry we missed you'. etc. I ran out and caught the postie, who informed me he had no package for me and that an attempt had been made yesterday to deliver. WHich it hadn't, as I'd been in all day. Weird.
  14. Ta. Seen it and replied!
  15. Did you mention correct rear pup placement, perchance? And the ridic heels those basses have, as well as their thicker bodies? Are you getting the angled-back headstock? Good luck this. If the send build updates, please consider posting here?
  16. I remember these from the mid '90s. I played one in Sound Control, Edinburgh, and it nearly took the skin off the underside of my left hand. The unfinished fret-ends were leathal! This wasn't an uncommon issue with them but there were others. Sound Control nipped it in the bud and shipped the consignment back to Arbiter. Glad to hear yours has been salavaged.
